***Official Breakfast Club Interview Thread***

Dame makes great points he just says it in a way that makes people uncomfortable, he's in your face about ****. I don't mind that. He was 100% right about having a boss and not owning your own ****.
I kinda agree with u fam
He was sayin real ****
And people get offended so they kinda stop listening
But he be making valid points

Dame that _, he wasn't saying nothing wrong, everybody should want to be a boss. It's all about progressing, ppl get complacent and never reach their full potential because they fall into that trap of being routine and falling in line under another man.

Envy was getting COOKED [emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji] he definitely not gone let his kids see/hear this one

how many people here agree with Dame Point of view? so if someone likes their Job and likes what they do they are too lazy to become their own boss?

I am an engineering student, i want to work for Lockheed Martin, and if i get that job i plan to keep it until i want to do something else not necessarily have my own business, does that make me lazy ?

Dame made a damn fool of himself.

He was trying too hard.

He has decent points but just goes about it all wrong.

Man if you enjoy what you do and are able to provide for yourself and family then go for it.

I agree with dame to an extent but the delivery of his message was wild arrogant.

I have no problem with him shutting Charlemagne down multiple times.

I agree with everything he is saying but I dont agree with everything he believes in.

In his mind if you dont move the way he moves your wrong which is insanity in my eyes.

For your argument i dont think it makes you lazy but i think it does make you complacent.

Why not become Lockheed Martin so the young engineering student coming out of school wants to work for you?

If you work hard and break your back and the company makes an extra lets say 2mil that year based off of your work. What do you get ? Your regular salary? if your luck youll get a bonus but how much is the bonus 10k 20k 30k while the owners are getting 100k 200k and they wake up on a beach while you are up early battling in the elements.

You should never set a ceiling on your own success always strive for more. Nothing wrong with working for someone it doesn't make you a slave but if you have no ambition for anything other than what you are doing then that is wrong. (In my eyes but you dont have to agree with me

Dame is not that jedi we think he is, he doesn't say anything in interviews and he is arrogant. I learn more watching 50 interviews, from a OG i think Dame has knowledge without character.

Dame was talking like he's part of the 1%, but in a society like ours proletarians exist because the system doesn't function with a gamut of bosses.

It's not realistic.

The whole educational system is designed for us to pick up on a profession in hopes of landing a dream gig or something to that effect.

But once you reach a certain level of mastery hopefully you'll be taught the importance of administration/management which translates into the working realm. Then if you're every presented with an opportunity to manage you'll have the necessary information to supervise in an effective manner. It's about more than just having a boss mentality; that's just touching the surface.

It all starts with your thought process, but indoctrination (educational system) prevents many from reaching that level.

Then you have to consider labor institutions of America which makes it very difficult for the average citizen to break free from the mold of mere worker.

The idea that an exchange of labor for capital will cease in America is too farfetched imo.

Man......I never let celebs get at me cause I don't know them personally but Dame is just something else. I love the strategy of asking questions when he doesn't want to answer something.

"Why are men so worried about other men?"...bro....he should be happy people are asking him about anything. He speaks about the streets where people get killed over talking about someone. It's not even like that no more. This dude is crazy.

I watched the Sway interview with Dame and watching this one right now, never seen someone so insecure. Immediately defensive and constantly talking about "what men do" every 2 minutes. Not gonna lie, it's entertaining though

you a boss but begging for a convo or help from spike lee????

just stop

He wasn't begging, he saying from one black man to another, we can get more accomplished by working together instead of throwing shade. Spike Lee is established in a field Dame is trying to break into, if somebody reaches out for a helping hand, somebody trying to better themselves, then why not help them if it's in your power? That's how the white ppl do it.

If jay offered son a job he would jump in a heart beat. Everyone can't be a boss that's the problem, imagine the world if everybody wanted to be a boss. Just like there are still rappers who sign to majors, everybody not cut for the independent grind, they just know how to rap n that's that. Can't be mad if another man chooses to be a worker n can live the exact same way if not better than that boss.

^^^^^That is what I am saying. And to even own your own business and thrive off it is another thing. I mean I'd love to own a sneaker company but that is easier said than done. I think it'd be different if this was Jay Z saying what Dame is saying but dude is promoting a film that no one will ever see.

I honestly can't believe CTG played "can we all just get a long" role. I figured he'd go right at Dame just because Envy was getting it.

Well that's kind of what happens when you act this way. Dame is undoubtedly a ****, so people aren't going to want to work with you when you come off that way.

That's his issue. It was cool when he was acting this way back then. Him being attached to Jay forced people to accept it, but at this point people don't want or have to deal with Dame and the way he acts. Dude never grew or evolved, and it's clear that it isn't working for him as well as it was in the past.

That interview makes me appreciate the hell out of Puff so much more.

You can't put Puff in a box because he's picked up so many skills and talents that he's essentially invaluable in the entertainment biz.

I can't say the same for Dame. I'm guessing that by 2003 in Def Jam's eyes he no longer served a purpose. He can't rap or produce. That's why we have this:

Dame was a middleman his damn self.

I wish he worked in another field of business, he'd be great.
