***Official Breakfast Club Interview Thread***

I got a question. My Mexican homie used the N word around me all the time. I don't mind cuz we tight and he means no disrespect. My other friend came around and was kinda bothered by it. Started having a discussion about it and ****. Then my Mexican homie brought up fat joe and eminem. He's like why fat joe get a pass and gets no backlash. If em says it its a big deal. I had no answer. Any thoughts. At first I said its cuz he white and its disrespectful. But I'm not so sure that's a good answer. What yall think.

Its just a word, malcolm & king werent fighting over the n word, they fought for equal rights

Ppl are just too sensitive, if thats how they grew up let them say it especially if they mean no disrespect, i never understood why blacks get mad at other ethnic groups for trying to be like us, if you really look at it we're being hypocritical by using the word if we dont want others using it

Imitation is flattery

I think Pun/Joe get a pass because they Puerto Ricans and not from a WASP background like Em.

I hear Mexicans in LA say it here and there and some filipinos.

One of my Mexican friends says it every now and then. I don't have a problem with it. We pretty much grew up around the same area so I'm good with it. I know a few white people that grew up around black people that don't say it at all. It seems like it's always the white suburban people that want to say it so bad. Like it makes them feel good saying it. I haven't heard a white dude say it since HS, I've heard a girl say it in the past year though.

I personally don't let the non-black people hanging around me say it.  They know that **** is slick so most of the time they'll say it real low to test you, then if you act like it's cool they'll keep going.  Not trying to talk myself up as some super bad-*** but a few times I've had to check dudes on using the n-word, A or ER, around me.

I just tell them I know you use it, but out of respect I'm gonna need you to not use it around me.  Most people understand, a few get offended but I don't care.  I think a lot of black folks who act like they don't care are actually uncomfortable with it but are too scared to say anything about it.

That was part of the code when I was growing up, if you were a non-black dude hanging around black people that was one of the rules you had to abide by.  Nowadays black people have let other races get way too flagrant with it, in my opinion.

Ricans, Domincans, etc get a pass because they have some black in them. Word to Ninjahood.

Personally, if you're not black or don't have any black in you..dont say the word. Period.

I hate when other people say it cause most don't wanna be categorized as black

especially dominicans, puerto ricans....

ninjahood is the perfect example why I hate it

and they don't have black in them, they are essentially black but that's a whole nother topic

But it's so mainstream now. As a black man I feel that the word has lost it's power. ER is not tolerated

The thing is a lot of dudes like Ninjahood will deny to the very end that they're black.   Ninjahood even adopted a Republican shtick to try to distance himself from blacks when Obama came up for re-election.

It's the perfect example of people wanting to adopt black behavior while simultaneously dissing blacks collectively.  Which in my opinion we've allowed too much of.

Most hispanics think they're a racial group when they're only a culture
Which is sad

I don't even allow my black friends to say it around me without me telling them how I feel about the word.

Son probably in the post your car thread shedding tears.

I'd be more impressed if he moved out his moms crib on the twin bed.

It's not mainstream, it's just said in rap music.

And how do you determine this er and a? So if SAE said it with an A it would have been fine?

I think New York and the surrounding areas are a little different from the rest of America. The rest of America doesn't have as much interaction between latinos and blacks.

Didn't know all that stuff about ninjahood. SMH Never cared for him anyway.

Never knew Khaled had to apologize for using it but he needs to apologize for more than that too.

Saw 2 white girls say the N word yesterday after a concert. Sounded so forced.

Gotta catch up on them interviews tho.
