I was a Webbie guy, Boosie voice always annoying to me. I can't lie though, he has some heat on this new album. Never thought I would buy a Boosie CD but I have to now. Window of My Eyes, Mercy On My Soul, Retaliation, No Juice, Black Heaven, Hands Up.

He had a big following BEFORE the prison-social media hype That was mainly for street cats, hood dudes, ratchett people, people in the struggle, and the everyday black man. Dude is very relatable on a lot of levels. That's his appeal. I've found that the people that really don't think he's good are the ones that view him as a "souljaboy-esque" type of rapper...so they really don't understand the appeal. Until they actually listen to his tracks the understand the realness and realize that the "wipe me downs" are just about 15% of the type of music he makes. The other 85% is nothing but real.

You wouldn't understand unless you listened to tracks like "confused", "going thru some things", "betrayed", "chill out", "trouble man", "So you wanna be a gangsta", "F the Police" etc etc. On the other end of the spectrum, he makes great bouncy party music, and good gangtsa music so he's versatile.

The social media hype came and that's when the white high school/college kids...and media like complex etc took notice, mainly because he had already a huge following and they wanted to be in on what was already trending.

I'll tell you this, in Baltimore.....this man is KING. You say you don't like Boosie round here, and we look at you funny lol.

He makes music for a certain segment so I never trip when ppl say they don't like his music. You had to have seen or been around some things to really understand where dude is coming from.

Personally used to jam homies music religiously but I can't get down with that **** anymore after the case. There's a 20 year old that's gonna rot in jail behind some grown man **** At that point I just can't support it anymore.

As for that case. I work in education and most of my students are juniors and seniors. I see the way they idolize rappers etc.

Then I think about how dudes like Boosie use that influence to make killers and hit men just so they don't get their hands dirty.

Let me be the first to admit I love some rachet ****, but I just can't look at Boosie the same.

I just never got into his music because that voice but I'm definitely feeling this new album. A lot of hard tracks. Should remove 3-4 songs though. I wasn't feeling Life After Death Row. Ke'Noe producing on the album

Ehh...I feel what your saying.....But if you think Boosie used his influence to make Marlo Mike a killer, you're sadly mistaken. More so Boosie put a young Killer on his team. I question how much influence Boosie had over Marlo Mike when Marlo ended up killing Boosie's best friend, and having the nerve to carry the casket.

Now could Boosie have tried to point shorty in another direction, and tell him do better...YES. Maybe he did for all we know. Point is, he didn't use his influence to better a young killer's life.

However, being 16 don't mean ****. There are some cold blooded killers at that age who been jumped off the porch. Marlo Mike fits this description.

I'm 100% with you, I don't even understand how you could rock with those artist listed. All trash yet have some type of
fan base. That's cool but please get out my face talking about best in the south and mention anyone in that list.
