Pricing aside, these not only get 'full grain leather' (TBD if this the real deal or some garbage) and the correct toebox shape vs. the 'Herman Munster/Steel-toe' toebox that's present on Retro IIs.

da air revolutions came out before da jordan III too.
air flight 89 are FAR from a take down jordan IV when they had da midsole and outsole first.

Didn't they come out the same year? They were likely developed at the same time, release date is sort of irrelevant.

i thought i was the only one who noticed this...
Nike can get correct toebox shapes when they want to. these have that 1986 and 1994 Jordan II toebox, while the last batch of 2s had a bulky *** shape. something tells me the leather on these will be almost as good as the OGs. and as far as the replaced snakeskin, its because PITA pressured Nike into not using authentic animal skins back in 2010. but its surprisingly easy for companies to emulate the look and feel of authentic snakeskin.

Definitely copping the brown joints, those grey ones have way too much of a sparkle disco effect
These are crazy. I hope they are limited but easy enough to get on release day because I have a feeling a ton of people are going to sleep on these and regret it.
I like how it has a unique tongue patch compared to most nikes too. Sucks they couldn't use real snakeskin but what are you going to do.
I wonder if the packaging or box is going to be anything special for $170.
The one thing I noticed compared to the original (aside from snakeskin) is how the leather doesn't roll over the top of the collar like the OGs. I think that gives the original more of a premium "italian" look but maybe its just because the shoe in the pic got worn down and the foam in the collar collapsed a bit.

these are pretty much a hybrid of both of those yet there seems to be a great deal of hype for this retro.

Yeah, 89's were extremely popular when they first released.
I'm not young and I don't like these.
I'm interested in seeing it too. Something tells me it's going to be like the OG leather on some recent retros.
I don't think anyone got the 89's thinking they were IV's, but who knows with todays consumer. Especially when JB does take down models of Jordans and retros these days.

I'm sending one pair to Russian customizer McMaggi to have the faux snake replaced with real python.

They will. They always do. Look at the Independence Day hyperfuse 90s. 'Ye got dudes paying $200+ for a widely released, basic *** Air Max.
Trust the hype on these will be through the roof. If a rapper or athlete doesn't do it, Nike will. But most likely both.
