Got mines already paid off at Gamestop

Gonna go in there sometime this week and ask them about this.

What are the perks of going all digital?

cuz i can count a half dozen reasons why its not a good idea yet.

Unless you buy games on release date, I don't think going digital is the way to go. They rarely lower the price on digital games so I'll stick to GS and Amazon for now..

edit: I do like being able to play games without having to get up and change discs, I know I know, pure laziness

1 pro of digital is not having to get up from your seat to change the game you're playing, which has always been a problem since the beginning of console gaming.

BETA NEWS =

I highly doubt the beta/demo will be tied to a preorder.

NOT HAVING TO FUMBLE AROUND WITH DISCS (I'M A MINIMALIST, LESS CLUTTER) AND INSTANT SWITCHING ARE THE ONLY PERKS I NEED.

I DON'T CARE ABOUT GETTING DISCOUNTS ON DIGITAL AND I CAN COUNT ON 1 FINGER THE NUMBER OF TIMES I'VE TRADED IN A GAME. YOU WON'T EVER CATCH ME WALKING INTO GAMESTOP.

Reason why I still prefer disc:

-It is cheaper to game to disc

-When I buy a disc, I'm acquiring a piece of property. When I buy a digital game, I'm acquiring a license to play the game, and the rules of that come along with it.

-I can't gift digital game.

And until i get Google Fiber or any fiber optics on my area, installing from a disc is faster than downloading 40 GB off the internet.

Downloading and then installing

If it is tied to preorders then you can just drop 5 at gamestop on a preorder and get a code. If it ain't then y'all cats who didn't preorder at gamestop ain't got nothing to worry about.

Until digital gives me a good discount on brand new games (10-20)... Im buying physical copies of things when I can.

GameStop Power up rewards is dope.

Stackin points then cash em in for discount vouchers all the time. :smokin

Don't get the point in buying a digital game for full price, that you can't trade or resell.

old games: digital>disc

Anyone using Sky Drive to stream their movies yet?

I saw it and got curious.

I used to put movies on USB all the time and watched on xb360.

I was bummed when i noticed that functionality is not supported on xb1.

But this workout is actually really nice.

^i've used skydrive for a few but it only allows under 2gb files

I started using the "play to" function in windows to stream, I like that better because you don't have to upload it first

The 2gb file limit hasnt been too bad for me.

I would use the play to but other than my xbox, my whole house is run on OS X. :rolleyes

I've been dumping anime on skydrive and watching on the x1, works decent but dont touch the d-pad, for some reason the d-pad jumps to the next file when you are watching vids from sky drive.

Does the XB1 play MP4s?
yeah, they play with no problem.  mkv's are where I run into trouble

@DJYoung08  try this app called Skifta., i used that a bit and it works really well too

Speaking of Skydrive...

Microsoft Changing SkyDrive Name to OneDrive
Existing data to carry over seamlessly.
by Matt Clark JANUARY 27, 2014
Microsoft's SkyDrive cloud storage service has received a new name. Last year, BSkyB successfully took Microsoft to court, stating the SkyDrive moniker infringed on the UK broadcaster's trademark. Today, Microsoft has announced the service will henceforth be called OneDrive.

"We believe the new OneDrive name conveys the value we can deliver for you and best represents our vision for the future," reads a blog post from Microsoft. "We are excited about what is to come, and can’t wait to share more."

Current SkyDrive users should see little change as the OneDrive name rolls out; Microsoft says all currently uploaded data will remain available. The company did not announce any other feature changes beyond the new name.
