I bought the adapter when I bought the console.

Didn't know you could use last gen headsets.

Will try to use my TB X11's from 360.

If I have to guy an expensive headset then I'm going Astro A40's but I'm trying to avoid it if possible.
Yeah I have the X11s, not 12s. Let me know how it works when you try it :nerd:.

Hey Nick I came home from work and have been trying to hook up the X11's to the XB1... but it can't work.

I tried googling ways to do it but no it's not compatible.

Here's why the red and white cords that hook into the AV cords from the 360 can't work on the XB1 because it gets audio and video through an HDMI cable :frown:

To all those who say no no you need the adapter... stop... I have the god damn adapter and the most I was able to do was hear the in game sound through the TV, but to chat it and communicate with other players it doesn't work.

Damn I have to shell out the dough now to get a next gen headset but I have to be careful of what I buy because I have an old flat screen Phillips TV from like 06 I think that my girl got me so it doesn't have all of the doo hickeys of modern TV's these days.
Didn't even think of the red/white wire setup that the X11s use. Probably just gonna go with the X04s. Astros for $200 are too rich for my blood .

Yeah it is expensive but with the cheaper ones you only hear chat audio and not in game audio.

I'm searching around for headsets and the cheap ones are saying player chat audio and nothing about in game audio like hearing what comes from you TV speakers because it only hooks up to the controller and not the back of the TV.

They expensive ones hook up to the TV and the controller so you get both.

Why the hell couldn't they just leave the **** just how it was on the 360 had to go do all this other ********... one of the major flaws and issues I think MS messed up with... I could have dealt with all of the other **** because it didn't really affect me.

Dude really? This makes me sad man. I'm not ready to shell out 80$ for a headset though, theres gotta be another way. I gotta find some headsets that would work with the adaptor before I do that.

Bro I'm so tight it's not even funny man :smh:

I see Astro released a new A40 and it comes with an adapter and all that so I bought that damn adapter and it's a waste because all of headsets that let you hear game audio and chat comes with an adapter.

I am going to keep looking but before I buy anything I have to see how it completely hooks up before doing so because I don't want to risk it.

Even though I played most of Halo 3 without a mic because I was always solo I'm expecting to play with guys on here. Man I'm trying to get a rank 50 this time around and without teamwork I don't think it's going to happen.

Refurbished for 60

Yeah this isnt good. IDK what I'm gonna do now myself. Gonna have to bite the bullet

100$ for a headset is just :x

Thanks but I don't think I'm going to mess with those though.

Anyone here use the chat mic that came with the XB1?

I have to find the box it came in but if I can hear in game audio and chat then I'll use that for the time being.

Will probably wait until Black Friday and if a deal comes up I'll jump on it.

You cant hear game audio through it, its chat only.

Iffy about wireless ...

Would suggest you grab refurbished A40s for $180.

You might need a optical cable.

Or try this?

http://www.turtlebeach.com/xbox-one-console-compatibility

click on x12.

Or

Plug in headset USB for power into available USB port.
Plug green audio cable from headset into TV.
Plug chat cable into adapter.
Turn game volume on adapter to 0 (press chat button till beeps).

Yeah that's that think I don't have audio out on the back of my TV so it's a no go for me.

I only have audio/video in.

I see a lot of people saying good things about the Polk Shot 4, but I don't know.

What headset is everyone using in here.

Does your headset give you in game audio and chat functions?

not a fan of wireless? WhaT??

isn't that what gamers have been asking for with headsets...

I have a buddy who had the A50's and said there were some connection issues so he returned it and got the A40s.

putting in work putting in work for sure. I had the X11's as well. I feel like you can just connect a optical cable from the white rectangle thing with the volume knobs to the Xbox and that would work .. Unless I'm totally mistaken

Did that work for you or do you know for sure if it would work.

What are you using now for the XB1 for a headset?

This works for me. Only issue is that I have to plug the green cord out whenever I want to watch TV. A minor inconvenience though. Good thing too cause my chat adaptor already shipped.

why are you guys skeptical about wireless? it comes with the usb - and it's their latest beast that's been in development for a while.

Wish XB1 had Bluetooth functionality. Got a couple headsets just lying around.
