to answer the question above. the difference with this halo remaster vs something like God of war is that gow is single player. so nostalgia is the only interesting thing about it. most people play halo for the multiplayer competitive angle. that's timeless. basketball isn't ever the same game after game. I'm not an advocate for remastering single player games I think it's silly for the most part. like besides halo and gears, there aren't anything else deserving of a remaster.

remaster an rpg? nah I'd rather just have a new one(although I will play a pokemon remaster for gen 2 and below)

Is it possible to check the expiration on MS currency? I used the GS money to buy Halo MCC and then MS gave me a refund for it. I remember the currency had to be used before the end of the year. I don't want to lose my points but unless they fix Halo, I don't want anything on the X1 til like next year.

I still can't wrap my head around the fact that 343 single handedly butchered a franchise to this extent. I mean to drop the ball on a release this big is outrageous. The possibility for success for not only the game but the system could have been astronomical it done right but they totally killed it. I'm debating on selling my Xbox one and sticking with my ps4 from here on out considering the ONLY reason I have an Xbox one is for halo..

Gears of war is the COD of tps. The controls/gameplay are great.

GOW is at the top of the TPS ladder.

My purchase has been more than worthwhile.  I sure would have liked to have the option of paying $350 like people have now but I honestly have no regrets.  Scratch that, titanfall was the worst video game purchase I've made in the last 5 years.  Outstide of titanfall I have no regrets.

Nothing wrong with that, we don't all have to like/love the same things.  I actually don't want to bash it for the sake of bashing it but I wish I could get that money back(digital purchase).

The whole not being able to resell what I bought is what held me back from digital purchases as a concept.

If it's a digi-sale, I'll purchase.

But for $60, it has to be a game I know I will not resell.

This past year with the xbox one over been great... I got mine in early December. I didnt pre order and struck out for about 2 weeks before getting my hands on it.

Ups
- Somewhere around 17,000 gamer score from XB1 titles.
- "Met" some really cool NTers through this forum on XBL and we 'kick it' in games here and there
-Dope runs on Titanfall, CoD, KI, Halo, etc.
- Gamestop 'free money' used to buy tons of fun games i wouldnt have played otherwise... Child of Light, Valiant hearts, Dive Kick, forza horizon 2, D4, etc.
- Nostalgia of Halo
- A piece of hardware that can download and utilize my home internet speeds (up to 150mbs down)
- Been a cool ride to see all the updates... even though i think a lot of the "new features" should have been included day 1
- KINECT!!!! I was so mad at M$ for making me buy one with the console.... But I actually use it every time I use by console.
- My custom controller
- EA Access and their attempt to be better
- All digital and game sharing w/ my boy... 50% off errthang...

Downs
- Party system still isnt as stable as 360 and that infuriates me
- Titanfall didnt really live up to the hype and they delivered too little too late
- UBISOFT is going the way of EA.... EA has been turning around for the better too.. its a shame
- They messed up on watch dogs... they messed up on AC Unity... and Im at the point where I dont even want Far Cry 4 because of the ubisoft name. Shame because I really want to get and enjoy that game.
- In general, the big Triple A titles were pretty bad at launch requiring numerous patches to either bring stability or usability at all... Shout out to battlefield 4, Dead rising 3 online, Halo MCC, and Assassins Creed Unity.
- The hardware specs of this "10 year console" still concern me... How are game developers having a hard time develop native 1080p/60fps TODAY when there are TVs outputting 240+ Ghz... smh smh smh smh

You have to actually call the Xbox hotline. They tried to give me the run around over chat as well. I had zero problems once I actually called to speak to someone. Did my refund on the spot.

Am I missing something? Is there any way to play the OG Halo 1 & 2 campaigns on the Collection? Or do you have to play the remakes...

After buying both consoles on release day I'm just starting to feel like they've been worth it. The XB1 has been great as an all in one console, the voice commands w/kinect have worked flawlessly for the most part and the integration with my other devices is very convenient. Haven't used a remote in months.

The games until month have been very lackluster. Destiny and Titanfall were disappointing as supposed blockbuster titles do I've only gotten back into playing actual games when 2K and FH2 released. And now with Halo and GTA V hopefully I'll be back playing more.

2015 looks very promising with Batman, MKX and a lot of other titles coming so I think next year is where the gaming industry in earnest will be full stream ahead in the next gen.

PS4 has been a dust collector but hopefully GTA V will change that even though I had the game on 360. The grand on release day slowly but surely is starting to see a return on investment.

They are one and the same. You just press select and it switches between anniversary campaign and the OG. The gameplay is the same, the only updates are to graphics

I've never loved a shooter the way I loved Gears.

That game still looks decent til this day.
