But it took me forever to download the patch yesterday and gameplay wasn't much different. Still ended up in a 3v6 match

But the most frustrating part is how difficult it still is to party up w friends and run matchmaking together. We just couldn't join each other or even accept invites. After 30 min or so it worked then we ran 6-7 games then it separated us and we couldn't play again.

Also, anyone not able to always see their friends who are online? I can see them in my dashboard but not on halo

Whenever that happens you gotta quit the game. Go to the Dashboard and press start on the game, and close out the app. I didnt have the quit the build yesterday when I searched though, maybe I got lucky.

Here's my list of deal breakers for MCC

1. Can't join friends. The game thrives in social experience and I can't even play with my friends

2. Can't play customs because I can't join friends

3. Playlists suck. Of course this is my opinion but H2A is horrible and what do ya know, it's the only ranked playlist. BTB is a mixed bag of games only? Cmon.

4. I don't even want to play ranked because I can't join my friends, team splits, and uneven teams

5. My saves in campaign randomly get erased.

6. Playing campaign with friends sometimes lags and if you try to restart the game doesn't save all the time


All I can think of for now

As usual typical NT I reply in this thread like 5 times that I was on playing and see others saying they're playing too and nothing.

I also realized that although I was addicted playing and couldn't stop I kept saying one more game when I went to the bathroom my eyes were bloodshot red and that's when I knew it was time to stop.

I don't know how this is going to pan out for me because I got addicted playing and lost track of time, but I'm not young anymore with all this spare time on my hands so I don't know how Halo will work out for me. I can't see myself wasting all this time playing it but I want to and am fiending too but I want to do so casually but when I start playing I'm in full focused mode

For reasons like this is why COD will always be popular because it's something you can pick up and play and do so casually with little skill or preparation time.

I usually just send people "room for 1 more" xbl messages. I'd recommend doing that.

Once mcc is shipped to me, I'd be down for some halo 3/4, maybe halo 2 too.

Your second sentence reminds me of my cod4 days. I'd play till I fell asleep while in game.

It sounds like some of that game time was enjoyable.

IDK what you mean about BTB though, cause that playlist is the only perfect one. BR starts only, Slayer and OBJ, every game in it, its now 8v8 like its supposed to be, I got no issues with BTB.

Campaign online has always had lag issues, in every game that had it I expected nothing else from it when its not running on dedicated servers.

Tried that several times. Even turned the Xbox off. a couple weeks ago I found out my NAT was strict but now it's open and still having the same problems. it's just so random on when it works and doesn't work.

Like blastercombo was saying, this is more of a social experience for me. I'm not a hardcore gamer at all. I just want to relive some of my past playing halo 2 w my boys.

No I haven't played with the newest patch. I tried to download it and it said I couldn't. I tried the hard reset and nothing. In typical MCC fashion it takes 30 mins and multiple tries to do anything that should be a click away

Yeah mine was stuck at 47% for an hour. I had to pause the update, hard reset my xbox, and then resume the update and it flew. I also saw this as a fix:

UPDATE: For anyone getting the error above, I suggest changing the DNS settings in your Xbox One network settings temporarily.

Primary DNS - 8.8.8.8

Alternate DNS - 8.8.4.4

Then turn your connection offline, then online to make these settings kick in. Don't forget to change DNS to automatic once it is downloaded

Everything that announcer says sucks. Sounds like he's trying too hard to imitate the OG announcer. Not to mention he explains gametypes with a 500 word essay. Do they really think we don't know what Capture The Flag and Slayer means?

In regards to the new patch, everything was working very smoothly for me last night. Had a few uneven team games but for the most part all of my games were balanced. However right around 2:30am I couldn't find any more matches. I tried switching playlists, quitting the app, and hard resetting to no avail. Not sure if it was because it was too late and nobody was playing or if there are still some kinks to be worked out.

Also they need to add an option to lower the music volume at the menus/lobby screen. Halo has had an awesome soundtrack over the years but I don't need to be hearing it blaring through my headset 24/7.

Was gonna come in and say this.

If you're looking to play with friends in MM, or as a party- it's still a nightmare. MCC somehow managed to mess up my XBL party chat too. I have trouble connecting with friends at all when playing this game.

MM by yourself works good now. With other people, the fact you can't see them online on the roster 80% of the time still isn't fixed. Just so Yall know.

If you plan on playing with friends, you're gonna be frustrated. Idk about the separation issues after games, I find it hard to even get into the same lobby half the time.

If you're playing by yourself- you'll be fine.

I think 343 gave you a different copy of the game than everyone else. Seems like you've had a pristine experience since launch .

I'm gonna stream today if I get on so you guys can see cause I know it looks odd that I'm just skating through with few issues while everyones struggling.

I'll say that people will sit in the lobbies for minutes at a time inbetween games if the party isnt full waiting for someone though so there would be a ton of down time
