Keko Jones,

You posted a blog/article someone who was also as confused as you wrote ages ago.

I'm only going to comment on the first line of your prior post. There is no way i'm going to dissect that confusing/false post you made.
I have no idea how you got this idea or what you actually intended to communicate to us.

Microsoft's original plan was to create an all digital future. Some policies still stand, some don't.

The one that is still active is being able to access your digital downloads on any Xbox. Don't feel like taking your games to a buddy's house? Just sign in to your account on your friend's Xbox and access your whole library. There is no limit to how many Xbox Ones you can do this on. The policy that was axed was the sharing plan. Each user would have been able to create a "Family" list. In this list you can add up to 10 friends and each can access your library of saved games, one at a time.

See? i had to type a whole dam paragraph just to try to correct your first argument........don't expect another reply from me.
Bro - I'm getting all this from FORBES ...

In addition, if what was said wasn't true, why did Microsoft make the amendment ....

“Today I am announcing the following changes to Xbox One and how you can play, share, lend, and resell your games exactly as you do today on Xbox 360. Here is what that means:

An Internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One games – After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360. Trade-in, lend, resell, gift, and rent disc based games just like you do today – There will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360. In addition to buying a disc from a retailer, you can also download games from Xbox Live on day of release. If you choose to download your games, you will be able to play them offline just like you do today.”

You guys keep taking about the 10 friend/family list and what I have been talking about is the buying used games/renting games .. there was going to be a fee impose in order for you to have access to play these games after purchase .... where's the confusion ????

GOOD LORD!

What I was trying to imply that I was coping - pasting from FORBES which has a credible reputation - not like someones blogspot ...

SMH at dudes trying to discredit .. hahaha

still doesn't even address the non-issue that this kid brought up ..

Jeez, you're not going to give up aren't you?

Sorry everyone, i swear this is the last time i feed the troll.

That "amendment" was made when people were getting upset at the fact that MS was trying to impose an all digital future.

Another prior policy that was axed was the 24-hour connection. One of the features was being able to download the disc content to your hard drive and never needing to use the disc again, which meant not being able to sell, lend, or buy used discs...obviousy. The purpose of the 24 hour check-in was for pirating purposes. Without the check-in, people would be downloading the same game to multiple Xboxes and going offline forever. It would have been exploited like crazy without any regulations. For example, installing my new Forza 5 disc, disconnecting it from the internet, then go return it to Gamestop.

People wanted to continue buying, selling, and lending discs. Completely ignoring that every other media is going digital. Movies, shows, music, software, all of it...digital. Macbook Pros don't even have a dam optical drive.

Why are you guys still arguing over that. Thats old news. Stuff that doesnt matter any more.

Can we get back to talking about games and other good news relating to the xbox one? Jesus.

The fee was for gamestop and other resellers and it went to the developers of the games, that was said at E3. If you bought a used game there was no fee for you.

There was NEVER any fee on the end user.

Yes they would have killed game rentals, so that would've sucked for those who rent games, but you could always cop a ps4 if its that big a deal for you.

Digital market would have seen lower priced games anyway. With Sony introducing Gaikai, Microsoft will most likely have their own rental/streaming service in the works.

Microsoft had to do major damage control after E3, which this wasn't even talked about.

Glad they cleaned up their ****.

Anyone in here that think Microsoft had your best interest at heart,

I know next gen is right around the corner but I'm thinking by the time next next gen hits there will a game version of netflix for atleast one of the systems. It'll probably be MS, they are trying to be the first to go mainly digital.

Might that be why MS had to reverse their policies?

You guys like to blame the consumers for not getting what MS was trying to accomplish when really the blame lies on MS.

They had all these supposed amazing features yet the failed to showcase them at the reveal and at e3. At the reveal it was TV this TV that. E3 they showed the games, but weren't they canceling interviews, basically in fear of bring asked specifics about their policies?

Then, once they reverse their policies they talk about how great it was going to be. Who knows if they were telling they were telling the truth at that point? maybe they were talking it up to save face after embarrassing themselves. Maybe they thought people would just fall in line and buy whatever they put out because they bought a 360 and liked it.

I mean, their policies were so great yet they didn't have the confidence to see it through? And people fault the consumers?

Im shocked many are getting the xbox one. Microsoft is playing you guys. No good features, games suck and the xbox one look like a giant ol school vcr tape.

Once they sell the xbox one they will reverse the used game policy watch

If anything Sony will be the first. PS+ with the IGC is already going that way and they've said with Gaikai, there aim is for more devices to stream PS2/PS3 titles from the cloud.
