I only care about this game really when it comes to Xbox, but Halo 5 is the last game any of you should be buying. Doesn't matter if you like it or not, the last 4 years of Halo and 2014 in particular should not make you want to buy this game. Draw a line in the sand a speak with your wallets.

Since 2010 this company has taken over one game that was still in rotation and released three, and they ran all four of those games into the ground. The lack of concern or empathy for the consumer base coupled with the infinite amount of lying done by them should be enough for you to not be suckered into it again. I could go into an extremely long winded rant about this but why do I need to;

-Took over Halo Reach and did basically nothing with it

-Made Halo CE anniversary for Xbox 360 and intentionally left Online MatchMaking out for it, said it couldnt be done, but they somehow found the time and resources to get it in for Campaign, and gave you Reach mutliplayer with it instead

-Halo 4........Enough said

-MCC which really deserves more than a bullet because this game is a colossal disaster. 

-Used MCC purely as a means to peddle H5 onto people and did nothing to update MCC while the H5 Beta was in play.

All things that have zero to with gameplay mechanics, just underhanded business practices and lack of concern for what they're doing. But if you guys feel that these things dont matter and would gladly give these people $60 of your money, feel free. I know I wont be.

The online road trips. You basically enter a lobby and 4 events.

Some are races or playground events.

In between the events, you race to the events for bonus xp.

Which can feel like "events" in between the events.

Would you remain happy with the Halo franchise if the features on halo 2 were never expanded (included the features they added to halo 3)?

Like if the gameplay engine never changed, weapons were never added, abilities, etc.

Making it essentially exactly what people who aren't fans of CoD, madden, 2k, etc is.

Would you not agree that keeping it fundamentally the same game has halo 2 would cause more of a backlash than changing it?

Just look at the numbers alone.... the people who are vocal about MCC versus the people who dont play any more... the people who are vocal about MCC versus the amount of pre-orders halo 5 already has.

I hate to say it, but the folks who hold halo 2 near and dear to their hearts and believe that halo 2 is how halo "should" be are the overwhelming minority.

I very strongly believe if they released halo 5 and released it mirroring what halo 2 was with the same map design, same guns, etc. there would be a much bigger backlash against halo...

halo 2 was HUGE and it was a pivotal FPS. There's also no denying that console FPS wouldnt be where it is today if it wasnt for halo 2. Its just... the glory days are over and the overwhelming majority of players aren't looking to play a game that feels like its 11 years old. IMO bungie saw and dipped out.

I also think that fast paced twitch shooting gameplay will die out eventually... it happens to be the trend right now, like halo 2 was 5-10 years ago.

Just my 2 cents.

Nah that would be bad, I've never wanted Halo to end up that way. But I've also never seen a franchise turn on itself and make games so further apart from its predecessors like the Halo franchise is doing.

It really doesnt have to be Halo 2 reloaded either because that alone doesnt solve the problem, cause even Halo 2 has its tremendous host of problems to people. If you really want to understand whats going on with this franchise and the way its going the fundamental thing that you have to understand is that the series already wen through a ton of dramatic changes prior to H5 or 4 for that matter. Things were always added and in turn things were taken away from the previous games.

Halos had three eras up until today.

Halo CE Era: This game alone gets its own era, none of the other games play like CE does, it stands alone.

Halo Team BRs: This includes 2 and 3, which are really different from one another but can be easily lumped together this way.

Halo abilities: Reach 4, and onward.

If you ask the right people they would tell you that Halo 2 was a disaster because of how much change from CE, 3 is bad cause how much changed from 2, etc etc etc. The crazy thing is that with all those games being so different from each other they still all held a set of fundamental principles that people universally agreed upon and made them successful games. That is until the Halo Abilities era. They simply changed too much while removing too many things that were pivotal in making the other games what they were.

Its not a matter of making a Halo 2 clone, but moreso not changing it so much to the point where its nothing like its predecessors which is where we're at now. I'm pretty much over it at this point, but they've tried this two times already and it didnt go well (high sales yea but any Halo game would sell well off of name alone), and its not going to go well this time around either IMO but we'll wait and see. This to me is the wrong direction for the franchise and you'll never see another franchise flip itself on its head this way. 

Counter Strike didnt do it, Unreal Tournament didnt do it, COD isnt gonna do it, Gears isnt going to, etc etc etc. 

Change was never the issue, I didnt flip out when the pistol went away for the BR, when they changed the way the BR shot from H2 to H3, the way the weapon/powerup timers worked in every game has changed from the last one, I could keep going on and on and on. All changes that on a surface level no one would noticed, but affected the game in a large way. All tolerable changes. Whats going on now? Nope.

I'd recommend delving into other games. There's no reason to own an xb1 for one game franchise. Maybe if you played other games, you wouldn't be so upset with what the halo non-originators are doing to halo.
