I was probably the best move since entitled ******** in the Halo community thought it was a bright idea to threaten the lives of employees and their families over this.

But I'm sure you're just gonna gloss over this fact because once again.

If I were Dan or Phil, I would do the exact same thing. If MS/Xbox/343 doesn't blame Dan for the mess up, the best move would to keep him radio silent so the doesn't have to deal with the nonsense from the Halo fanbase.

Unless you think dude deserves constant emails about he and his family getting slaughtered, over a ******* $60 video game?

Thats not in reference to me cause I did none of that. All I wanted was accountability and transparency, things that other Devs do when they screw up. Not months of silence followed up by lies. I dont think thats too much to ask for. Especially when they promised us answers, answers that will probably never come at this point.

I never glossed over it either, I said dudes were out of line for that. But this whole thing was Dan Ayoubs responsibily, hes the last person who should go anywhere. Bravo stuck around the entirety of these five months, tweeted, and responded to thousands of people. Tweeting isnt really endangering Dan Ayoubs life man. Frankie stuck around and still was regular condescending snarky Frankie on Neogaf with no issues. But the one person who should have been talking left, thats nonsense.

M$ clearly doesnt blame him for this which is crazy, in their minds its no ones fault, Phil Spencer has joined the lying train. Then whos fault is it? Or are we going to sit here and listen to them lie about how internal tests showed no issues when these games were broken from the ground up?

Five months in and theres still no explanation of what happened, we're still getting updates that say "We're fixing things" with no real idea of what theyre doing, and they're still allocating time on stupid side projects that no one really wants. They have yet to even acknowledge all the things wrong with H3. Its month 5....

FTR is not entitlement, it's an expectation. When they promise to have something and you pay for it, you expect it to be what they said it would.


NOW, the entitlement comes from expecting more than what they said. An explination would be nice but what does that change or give? It's also something they aren't obligated to give. That's where the entitlement comes in

What rusty is saying was right. Your entitled to a refund. When MCC wasn't working, I went and got by money back. I don't really need an apology or an explanation.

I bought a pair of shoes at a store. The tongue popped off. I took them back. I don't need to have the company give me an explanation why it happened. It sucked but whatever.

You're right I know nothing of MCCs development, but I do know how Halo is played. My point from the get go was that they knew this game didnt work from day one. They keep saying they didn't even thought there is a mountain of evidence to the contrary. That is what is still irking me, the fact that they continue to die. Even past the MatchMaking overlay issues, the games themselves are fundamentally broken, and still are, why are they continuing to say that? Its not like they're fooling many. I dont think its a wild assumption to say that they saw all those issues during testing, in fact theres no way they couldnt have. The games literally dont work how they do on their OG counterparts. During the Vidocs we saw them running side by side games with the ports and OG versions, so they had both in front of their faces. Not to mention they employ five professional Halo players who all played the game prior to launch and have a better understanding of it than me. If the devs didnt see it surely they did. Someone saw it, theres no way someone didnt, its just annoying seeing them lie about it.

That blame everyone thing was rage typing I even took it back right after(FTR that point of sharing equal blame was because no one knows who really made the call on this). Especially since Phil Spencer of all people doesnt care, anyone whos asking for blame to be pass around is wasting their time.

During the first two months of this thing I was the person encouraging people that the game would be fixed and that they should pick it up, posting all the tweets, and all that. You can go back and read it, in fact you know you were in here. It was all well and good until December 22nd when the patch they put out that day made the game play worse, then they put it on the shelf for an entire month during the H5 beta, then put out a patch right after H5 beta ended which did nothing. That was a month, a month grace period where they didnt really have everyone on their necks about MCC cause there was another game to try, they squandered that. Then they took another month and a half to put out this last patch and we're about 20% fixed right now. During this 2.5 month window, hardly anything was said. Thats where they lost me and I got fed up with this whole thing.

I think we're talking about two different things here especially the whole "hardcore Halo community thing". To me the hardcore Halo community is the competitive Halo community which is all I care about really. That these games have competitive merit and work. Everything else is irrelevant. My main dislike of 343 is how they're taking the competitive merit away from the titles, coudlnt care less about all that dumb stuff that kids on GAF cry about.

I would say that everyone who bought the game is owed an explanation, if you disagree that is ok. Lets agree to disagree here.

Why wouldnt he lie? Its in their best interest to lie, thats how business works. Doesnt change the fact that hes lying.

I dont think I'm entitled I honestly do not, maybe I'm not owed an answer, but I think I'm still owed the game being fixed which is the #1 thing I still talk and am upset about. They could never answer for all I care, if they fix it. We can put this behind us and Edap it up Rusty.

And please don't confuse my position as defending 343 in anyway. MS and 343 dropped the ball repeatedly after the launch of this game.

But the accountability I expect from them is not telling us what went wrong. But actual actions to make amends, besides patching the game.

And cause even though I like Phil Spencer, I don't have full confidence in the dude.
