Anti, I hear you loud and clear. Everyone knows I'm team OG halo, but you've got to realize this. Call of halofield is here to stay. It will last 3-4 months tops and will die just in time for them to reveal either more dlc or halo 6 that will undoubtedly release in 2 years.

OG halo is dead outside of master patch

Have emailed 343 with all these complaints????
Not complaints man, just humble opinions that should be treated the same as the "H5 is finna be lit" gang, but I'm sure 343 knows all this. I'm not the only person who thinks it, and the Halo Feedback program exists.

Good. More guns the better, makes the campaign more interesting.
At the expense of the multiplayer...

So what doe, and I honestly don't see it as a problem. And your fun is more important than mine?

Not being able to expand the weapons holds back creative decisions on the campaign side in many areas. We just suppose to fight the same enemies, with the same weapons forever?

-If they compromise and change how current weapons function. The entire community would ***** about that

-If 343 did make the hard compromise of having campaign only weapons. The entire community would ***** about that too.

I think the benefits of having them far exceed the little bit of redundancy they bring
No one said anything about who's fun is more important though. We gotta keep it civil Rusty Brah.

Fair points, but its about more than just a "little bit of redundancy". Adding too many weapons drastically affects the sandbox in what is essentially a 8-14 gun game. In the multiplayer space, the majority of guns in Halo are completely useless and it used to just be the way it was, but ever since H3, its been about "Each gun finding its place" which

A. Hasnt worked and probably wont ever work for the fact that the non power weapons rarely have any practical use so what need is there to add them. You play Halo multiplayer you're using the same guns, the BR/AR, then the power weapons for the vast majority. Everything else is useless the majority of the time. Needler? Useless, SMG? Useless, Plasma rifle? Useless, etc etc etc.

B. Causes a huge weapon sandbox problem for the weapons that are actually useful when we have too many guns in the same class of gun. It forces the devs to try and balance those weapons against the other weapons in their class as opposed to the sandbox as a whole. They either went one of two ways with it, you either got a multitude of guns that did the same thing (all the Automatics in H4 sans the SAW served the same function) or you try and differentiate them from the other weapons in their class by such a large degree that you end up with something that completely breaks the scale of power (Incin Cannon, Binary, Boltshot). Incin could have stayed the way it was for all I cared it solved the Halo Rocket problem which seems to be an issue every other game now.

Having 1-2 guns max that serve a function adds value to those guns and makes it easier to place the guns in a niche being that they only are being scaled against how they affect the entire game as opposed to how they affect the game and the other 3 guns that do the same thing.

Now H5 is adding in Legendary weapons which will throw this off even further, already saw it with Prophets Bane. Why does there need to be two swords? The sword already had a perfectly niched purpose in the game, and now we gotta find a way to balance the Prophets Bane against the regular sword then against the game. Whats Legendary hammer gonna do?

I'll close with a question.

Does campaign gameplay really mean that much when stacked against the multiplayer gameplay when the campaigns enjoyment largely comes from the story as cited by you and many others (you guys wanna see what happens to Chief, Blue team etc) along with the fact that this games success and legacy is founded on the quality of the multiplayer?

This was part of H4s problem, they added the Prometheans and needed to design an entire weapon set for them unlike when the Brutes came about and we got like 3 more Covie weapons as a result, and boom over saturated sandbox.
ThT

-Brah you relax, I'm not interested in going at it

-And yes the gameplay matters a lot in campaign. Halo games always short of meaningful story telling until like ODST. Campaigns have always been about gameplay their unique combat scenarios.

Halo 4 with all it faults at least got players moving, flanking, taking alternate routes, and using more weapons than the games that came before it.

-Halo's campaign have been very important to the success of the franchise as well. So I don't think it is fair for it to take a backseat for the sake for multi. Matter of fact, that is what exactly has happen with COD, and Battlefield games have some struggle campaigns.

It kinda hypocritical would it be for some players to rage against any hint of COD infecting Halo to the multi side, bu wouldt be cool if they do it on the campaign side.

So we can't create new non covenant enemies that have guns, or expand the lore in more significant way, or create new styles of missions, cause we might throw off multiplayer for a small group of people.

-And something can be said about the positives the added variety brings to the game. Halo is not top dog in the yard anymore. And they didn't lose that crown by its own failings, COD trait jacked it from them. Not matter how much hardcore Halo players rage against it, the fact of the matter is that most dudes won't sit down at grind for hundreds of hours in Halo to get good like they did in the past.

No matter how great your core gameplay loop is, people want variety. Perfect example is Titanfall. Once players felt like they saw everything, they bounced, they will still tell you how fun the game was, but it didn't have to content to hold them. Guess what a major request from players on Respawn's message boards are..................more guns. Just for the fact it gives them a slightly new experience.

----------

-Even though we have gone at it about MCC, my outrage for that game is much more focused. They need to get it absolutely perfect to free themselves from the shackles of having to answer to the most hardcore players.

If they had gotten it right, they could have completely quieted people that have the complaints that you have. Don't like H5, or H6, you like classic Halo (which every favor that is) then go play the MCC.

Halo is a lot of things to a lot of people. The franchise will not survive making H3 remixes over and over. No game is history has. Some changes crossed the line, but I don't think this is one of them. This one is a necessary "evil "

. That pro club mode is great.
**** is the worst man. It's either Barca or Real Madrid 95% of the time.

I use Dortmund

.
Truth has been spoken, I run into them more than anybody. I basically make the team beat me using other stars. Shut messi and ronaldo when im able to. I run into Dortmund (BVB) often normally when someone runs them they lob pass to Aubameyang praying for his speed to beat the D. I just play back on those. I used to mix up my teams when i ran Online seasons. But now im in D5 2 more wins and ill be in D4 and I run with Brazil.

Do these things really happen to yall who play fifa? I recently started playin & I only play pro club but Ive never seen any of this stuff happen *knock on wood*

-The campaigns are good no doubt, just dont think they're good enough to where things should really be designed primarily for them that will then make its way into multiplayer. It should be the other way around.

-Halo 4 didnt really do any of those things, map control, angles/routes to take, flanking and positioning were always strongly emphasized things. H4 maybe can site the jetpack in terms of route taking because of the Air element but Reach introduced that. The weapons part is really off, I used the same guns in H4 that I used in all the other games, the utility guns and the power weapons. Same thing that I mentioned earlier, all the guns that dont fall into one of those categories are by and large useless.

My Halo 3, Halo Reach, and Halo 4 TODs respectively. They all shape out the same and more than 80% of my kills come from the top 8. Its just how the game plays, it always has been an 8-14 game and really you could call it a three gun game being that a lot of these weapons can't be found in abundance/aren't on every map. A lot of the guns they put into the game serve no real purpose. I would wager that any one here who plays a fair amount of Halo can go pull their TODs and they'll look the exact same way even though H3 Reach and 4 all had over 24 guns in them. Outside of the power weapons they added, nothing new about H4 is in my TODs, and this happens every game now. They just overload the game with guns, the vast majority of which serve no purpose.

-They could handle the Lore issue the same way they did when the Brutes came into play. Give them a small amount of their own guns, and then make them use the existing guns. Prometheans could very well have gotten 3 guns like the Brutes did and then just use the UNSC and Covie guns. Seems kind of lazy but it worked before. Them getting a total set of weapons harmed the multiplayer and they could expand the lore, mission variety, and universe without giving them guns.

-"Variety" is what I think the problem is. Halo didnt start having player retention issues until Reach came along, the first game that deviated from the core gameplay mechanics and this got worse with H4. The further and further they keep moving in that direction will cause the franchise to suffer. It'll get played for 3-5 months then it'll get dropped wheras the predecessors had runs that lasted years. They're alienating the segment of their fanbase that will stick around and play the game regardless of what other game comes out.

I dont think Titanfall is a good example, its a new IP and didnt have a decade plus of core principles that all of a sudden started to be ignored.

-100% cosign on the MCC portion. That game comes out in working order and its the GOAT, but now its a laughingstock.

At its pre-E3 press conference today, Oculus announced a partnership with Microsoft.

Brendan Iribe, Oculus VR, CEO stressed the importance of shipping the Oculus Rift with a gamepad, and revealed that every headset will come bundled with a wireless Xbox One controller and adaptor.

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer took the stage to elaborate on the partnership: “The opportunity for us to bring our wireless controller, the one that we’ve spent so many years refining, to every Oculus user at launch is incredibly exciting for us.

“The Rift will natively work with Windows 10. And we all know that VR experiences require the highest performance, and with Direct X 12, we believe we’ll be able to create state of the art virtual reality experiences on top of Windows.”

But it won't just be compatible with PC. Spencer revealed, "People will be able to stream their Xbox One games to Oculus Rift," with specific titles like Halo, Sunset Overdrive, and Forza all mentioned as being compatible.

Oculus Rift is slated for release in Q1 2016.

E3 is just the beginning. Over the next few weeks and months, we’ll be sharing many more of our plans for 2015 and beyond. Having a jam-packed lineup of games to show at E3 means that there simply isn’t enough time to give each of our upcoming titles its well-deserved time in the spotlight. We’ve decided to save some of our most eagerly-awaited future titles for gamescom in August. Rest assured that titles like Crackdown, Quantum Break and Scalebound will be front and center at gamescom along with new game reveals for both Xbox One and Windows 10.

BFHL New Maps and Guns:

Both are PC Gamers, so the last one is solely based on PC and how many players actually play on it. Console is good to go! (And he mentions as much).

More content is good, I actually love the look of the maps including a true BF map with backwoods. Club looks clean, lots of flanking in the mall, and a lot of closed infantry in all the maps. Looking forward to using the FAL and the Tommy Gun.

Phil Spencer Promises an ‘Exceptional Year’ for Xbox Gamers

We’re just a few days away from E3, and gamer excitement is high as players prepare for the dump of video game information, reveals, and announcements. And thanks to the information already provided, it looks like this year’s conference is shaping up to be a good one.

Xbox gamers have a lot to look forward to at E3 and through the rest of the year, at least according to Xbox boss, Phil Spencer. Ahead of next week’s Microsoft briefing, Spencer shared his excitement for 2015 on Xbox Wire, claiming it will be an “exceptional” year for Xbox gamers, despite the plethora of game delays.

This has been a great year for gaming at Microsoft, and it’s only going to get better in the coming weeks and months. With the greatest games lineup in Xbox history coming to Xbox One this year, and Windows 10 being the best operating system for gaming we’ve ever released, this is going to be an exceptional year for gamers. No matter where or how you play, I truly believe 2015 will be our biggest year yet.

Spencer reminded readers about the upcoming Xbox exclusives still set for 2015, including Halo 5: Guardians, Forza Motorsport 6, and Rise of the Tomb Raider. Plus, with Fable Legends, the possibility of a Gears of War remaster, and Microsoft’s promise of a new IP reveal, it does seem this will be a strong year.

Why 'Halo 5' Online Will Work Better than 'The Master Chief Collection' - Master Chief

Another big factor in Spencer’s claim about this being the best year for Xbox is the support coming between Xbox and Windows 10, which is something Spencer and Microsoft have been hyping for months. The first aspect of that synergy – the Windows 10 app for Xbox and game streaming capabilities – is set to release on July 29th, with greater integration coming sometime later.

In his post, Spencer also reiterated that Crackdown, Quantum Break, and Scalebound will all be “front and center” at gamescom, along with “new game reveals for both Xbox One and Windows 10.” Based on that, it seems part of what makes this year exceptional in the eyes of Spencer is the fact that the gaming giant will be announcing and revealing multiple games for 2016, along with their release of a few highly-anticipated titles.

However, it’s important to remember that gaming executives often make these types of claims about their games and consoles in an effort to build excitement. In the end, the true worth of 2015 will be determined by gamers and their wallets.

What do you think about Phil Spencer’s comments? Will this be an exceptional year for Xbox gamers? Share your thoughts in the comments.
