Dunno if friends part is true, wall bounce is not crisp.. Game feels new but stiff takes like a game or two to get used too..they have a lot to polish but the mechanics are there the game is awesome..

Not sure what you're referring too. I'm not part of the early preview program (yet) and I'm literally playing the gears beta as I type this.

Early preview program is needed for backwards compatibility. Gears works without it.
