So I'm looking at my CC statement and I was charged like 200+ dollars in random stuff.

1. Season Pass AW
2. Gold pass ( Not sure what this is, I already have xbl gold)
3. Lego Superheroes (but I have physical copy)

And a few other stuff.

I'm not sure how that happen. I have a lock code to avoid my son from purchasing stuff.

I also traded my xbox 360 and I forgot to wipe the hd but they said they will do that.

Also with the Lego is strange since once I uploaded the game it never asked me for a disk.

Tips, suggestions?

Microsoft had a plan for digital game trade-ins but they never got a chance to show us what it was because people made such a big deal about the original game sharing features and internet connectivity requirements.

The dumbest thing to me looking back now is that some of the most popular games on both consoles almost exclusively require you to have the same internet connectivity that Microsoft was going to require.

Microsoft never should have gave in to the needs of the hardcore minority of gamers that seem to be more interested in collecting media rather than letting the industry evolve. The same people that were whining about their media will happily spend hundreds a year on games for their iPhone and Android mobile devices.

What I was saying though is that a large majority of games being played on both consoles need an internet connection just to be played.  Destiny arguably has one of the largest player bases on both consoles but it can't be played offline ever.  I'm not sure about nba 2k15 but I was shocked that 2k14 couldn't be played offline either, whenever 2k's server was down I couldn't play the game.  The same goes for a number of other games.

I'm hopeful that they do bring back some of the features that we could have had.  I just feel like I understand gamers like @iYen  better now, after seing his pic with all his old consoles I get that people like him will always prefer to have access to their media while I've pretty much owned every console from previous generations I've never had any interest in keeping the old games when a new generation is released or going back and playing those older games ever.

Microsoft did a poor job of catering to both ends of the spectrum, I feel like they caved to gamers like him when he isn't representative of the majority of the player base.  I've got friends just like him that keep everything or buy every game only to trade games in every 2-3 weeks but I know a greater number of gamers that really only buy a handful of games a year or just buy the "yearly" games that really aren't worth trading in(madden, 2k, cod).

Your right, its easy to forget about the kids.  The majority of gamers I know are adults so we probably aren't ever going to be on the same page as the kids.

Gamestop needs to die though, digital trade ins really would only hurt them.

I read a post where someone suggested a marketplace where microsoft would give you a msft money credt for trading in a game or basically turning over your ownership license and you can use that credit towards another purchase.  I think thats something that could work.

Even some form of paid game rentals/trials.

The only work around for the used game stuff would be to have

1. Game sharing. Which Microsoft was going to have. Sharing 10 games etc

2. Cheaper prices for digital games. The bulk of that $60 for a retail game goes to the GameStop, Walmart etc and boxes shipping, printing disks etc. I read somewhere that the publishers only get $30 from a retail game sale

If I had the choice of paying $60 bucks for new and maybe $40 for a used game or $30 for a digital game. I'm going digital all day.

I understand your perspective. I didn't game from 09-12, so there's a plethora of old gen games I've not played. Most notable mass effect, red dead, new vegas, and mgs1-4.

m$ was a in a damned if you do/don't moment. Unfortunately readjusting their xb1 vision meant taking away some positives from the OG xb1 vision. Fortunately, m$ is taking feedback.  Your 360/xb1 is pretty much a brick without xbl.

I think I was okay with it at the time and defiantly am now.
