I know right. It seems as if everybody got all uptight about the Xbox using DRM only to end up primarily downloading games anyway. I guess people just like the option of hard copies even they don't really buy or use them.

I always see the whole friend borrowing a game argument and I just don't get it. I haven't let someone borrow a video game since the 8th grade and that ended horribly when the disk came back so scratched up it wouldn't load up in my PS1 ever again.

As far as signing into a friends console to play a game, logic would suggest that more than likely it would be a widely owned multiplayer game like COD Ghosts, BF4, Madden, or 2K14 so it's more about the convenience of not worrying about memory cards than it is taking single player games like Ryse to a friends house. Who really sits there and watches their friend play a single player campaign.

Don't get me wrong, for people that want their disks I'm glad they still have the option but for a lot of people it's just not that big of a deal.

The borrowing games example is just one component of the larger argument of why discs>>>digital.

I let my friend borrow Beyond Two Souls last week and I've previously borrowed The Walking Dead from him.

Short story even shorter, people still let their friends borrow their games.

Also, it's pretty easy to tell who will take care of your games and who will not.

All you'd need to do is check the condition of their game collection.

I'll make my friend borrowing game example more clear.

My example is about chilling at a friend's house, then right before you leave you ask to borrow a game.

You didn't chill with your friend to play games, but you say that he had such and such. So you're like, "why not borrow it?"

Disc based borrowing is so simple.

No passwords, console authorizations, etc.

My xbox live ran out. I had a 2 day trial from when i bought gears of war: judgement.

I tried to use it and it said it can only be used with people that never had a gold account.

is this a new xbox one feature? we cant use trials?


Where would be the best place to get a good deal on XBL?

Anybody that wants to argue that sharing wasn't easier with the original model that microsoft wanted to put in place is just trying to be difficult, all you had to do was add your friends gamertags to a list of people that you shared games with, the game never leaves your possesion and is still able to be freely played by you.

I don't want to derail the thread further though, its clear we are on different sides of the fence when it comes to digital vs physical media but I'm glad we're both able to get what we want this gen.

In other news, I had my first wtf moment with the xbox one when my controller's batteries died midway through a cod game without warning or lights flashing or anything.

My kinect died last night smh

Didn't notice when the lights turned off on it while I was playing COD but when I said "XBOX Go Home" nothing. Then I noticed the lights where off on the sensor and when I went to the home screen manually I noticed in the right upper corner it said Kinect not plugged in. Tried the reboot methods in the support forums but nada. So I gotta send it back. I'm gonna do the standard return instead of the advanced one, no need to put that $160 on my card. I can go a couple of weeks without voice commands I guess. Yay. :\
