Will someone explain to me why the ability to sprint is such a bad thing in halo. Srs.
Halo has always been about encountering someone, gun fight, and then someone dies. Being able to sprint just makes the person whos losing the fight able to avoid it. Evade in Reach had the same problem but was way more fun to use.

It absolutely ruins small maps. In reach and 4, there were maps that were small enough to where if you got into a fight with someone and killed them, they could respawn and sprint right back over to you in less than ten seconds, it was insanity.

It promoted rushing, for the same reason as above. People would sprint to clean up kills all the time and it was a mess. Countdown in Reach was a perfect example of the evils of Sprint. The Pit in Halo 4 was another great example. Tried to put a map that wasnt designed around sprint in a game with it. You could make it from one platform to the other in three seconds. The flag games were

.

Sprint has to go. They just increase player movement speed to what it once was. There isnt any need for a sprint in a game that is supposed to have smaller map sizes that most shooters. Games like COD, Rainbow Six, and Battlefield need sprint because the maps are huge, even the biggest halo maps can allow you to get around without sprint, and if they arent, there are usually vehicles, and if you dont like making the long walk, stop dying.

Again I doubt it will, but its never been fun, especially in 4 where you had sprint in conjunction with having another AA...

It makes sense to have sprint tho since imo if never hurts and you telling me some super soldiers can't sprint? Lol personally I never thought sprint was that much of a bad thing

Its completely changed the way I play Halo. I've always had an aggressive playstyle cause I just thought I was good enough to play that way, but sprint just makes you reckless because if all else fails you can turn around, put your head down, run away, and if you're playing with other people bait the guy chasing you into team mates.

Even moreso, if you decide to chase and sprint after them, you have also lost your offensive capabilities you cant shoot while you sprint and the sprint ability lasts long enough to where you're getting your shields and then a fight you were just winning, turns into a fight you gotta start all over again.

A lot of times its a second life for someone, it prolongs games and removes a lot of the punishment for bad decision making.

I actually liked the armor abilities in halo reach. The only tweak if make is not having armor lock deal damage to enemies when released. Halo needs sprint but if course there should be a meter

I've never agreed with players being able to spawn with things that other players may not have. The "Everyone has the same thing at spawn and if you want better things you have to earn it" aspect of Halo was one of his big draws, AA(in particular the jetpack in Reach

) effecively ruined that. They should take out sprint and make Speed Boost a permanent addition

1. Halos gameplay was about everybody starting completely even and having to find weapons on the map. When you can run , as said up there, the beginning of games is nothing but rushing for the weapons and vehicles. Doesn't sound so bad? Well now the game is completely different. Map movement is confined to said areas for half the game is not all.

2. It's become nothing but running for cover cod style. Why doesn't that work? Simple, on cod couple shots are your dead so you can't really evade he shooter once he's got you. In halo you have to be shot a lot more to die. Running = you don't need to fight back, just run away.

3. An unnecessary dynamic that doesn't need to be there. Shouldn't he already be running all the time? It's the equivalent of having a jump and a jump higher button.

4. Maps are essentially "smaller". Halo maps (1,2,3) are among the best in FPS for a reason. The gameplay, map size, and map movement due to weapons spawns all work together. When you can run all that is shot to **** because you can grab what you want and run right back within 10 seconds. Don't believe me? Reach and halo 4 have maps simply redone from older games yet don't work well even though the game is relatively the same. The flow on the maps are completely different.

Don't get me started with AA. Completely broke an already garbage halo reach game. Each of the abilities had a broken mechanic you could exploit depending on the map.

We've already talked about how load outs ruined halo so there's no sense of bringing that up.

Bottom line, with halo LESS IS MORE.

So no mp has been confirmed?

Hmm agree if halo 5 bunz I'll be posting this bad boy on da craigslist. No reason for me to keep it over the ps4 if the one game I truly want to play will suck big ones

Not confirmed, but if they're releasing all the past games why would they create online mp for each of them? Makes sense but it still sucks.

If this thing about halo is true would their be a 10 year anniversary for halo 3 if they would include the campaign from halo 3 on this master chief collection? If they do decide to do a 10 year anniversary edition I could see them bringing on ODST and Reach.

There's going to be halo 2 mp. All but confirmed

the 10 year anniversary thing is kinda only when they don't have a game to go that year. If Halo 5 was ready this year, there wouldn't be this collection

When they gave you evade and sword on Countdown in Reach.......

All the corners plus the far reach of Evade, sword kills were in abundance

Jetpack broke every map. EVERY MAP

Thanks for answering my question about sprinting.

I'm more of a cod guy so I was really confused at first.

Makes total sense though for the hardcore/old school halo style.

As I expected sword was my 3rd highest weapon on Countdown. Sprint and Evade made sword ridiculous the only weapon you could use effectively coming out of sprint and with all the corners you could catch people off guard so easy.

I think people are in for a real surprise when they find that they're not as interested in H2 now.

Even if an identical MP experience if released, it won't be the same.

What does this even mean?

If I get what I want I won't want it?

I doubt that for me since I can only speak for myself but halo 2 anni and halo 5 are the only reasons why I would get an xbone. If I'm willing to buy a console for a game I think I'm going to enjoy the hell out of it

We're all 10 years older now.

The nostalgia thing plays a major part in the fondness that people have for that game.

Same game =/= same experience.

And don't get me wrong...I'm sure everyone will enjoy the hell out of it.

It's just not going to be the same as when the game was first released.

Yeah I understand what you are saying. It's not gonna wow me like it did 10 years ago when it first released but I really do miss that game

Agreed. Nothing will beat getting all my hs friends in one party and causing chaos that first year when it came out  Still excited to relive some of the magic though. Halo is my fave FPS series though so I'm definitely biased.

Experience? lol what are you talking about? Of course it isn't 10 years ago, but a good game is a good game. We'll make a new experience. If this is the case lets never play video games again because we aren't in HS anymore :frown:
