Help: Has anyone played video/ media files from the USB port via external hard drive on the xbox one? I formatted it when I connected the ext HDD (1 TB Seagate BUP Slim) to the xbox. Then, I connected it to my macbook to add videos to the hard drive, which prompted me back to formatting the disk. How do I stop this back and forth formatting the HDD between my Mac and xbox?

It's gotta be one or the other, I don't think it can be formatted for both the Mac and ms xbone

in other words, I have to get an external hard drive with both compatibilities (Mac & Windows)? I guess I'll have to return this hard drive and buy the WD passport hard drive and just reformat it on my Mac. The Seagate HDD is for Mac so I think it's the problem why I continually have to reformat between both platforms.

The xbox one currently does not support playing local media on an external hard drive.
Thats the main thing holding me back from buying an external drive right now.

U sure? Played media no problem on the 360 and I figured the ext HDD update for the x1 would allow me to do this?

A third party could take over the company if it buys enough stocks.
Capcom announced today that it will not be renewing its takeover defense, and is now open to a buyout, should a third party company buy a large enough share of Capcom stock.
Up until now, Capcom's takeover defense, which was originally instituted in 2008, has kept any company from acquiring Capcom directly through its shareholders. This method, known as a hostile takeover, is now possible following the shareholders' decision not to renew the countermeasure.
The company said it "will react to take steps to ensure disclosure of the position of the board of directors," and also make sure "there is sufficient time for shareholders to examine the proposed large-scale purchase and reach a decision."
In April, Capcom began construction on its second research and development center in Osaka, Japan after announcing a $78 million plan to expand and increase focus on internal game development. The plan also included hiring 100 new developers per year, in the hopes of having 2,500 on staff by 2022.
As for existing Capcom developers, Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono announced yesterday that he is leaving Capcom Vancouver, where he most recently worked on Dead Rising 3. Although it's unclear whether Ono is leaving Capcom completely, he did say he needed time to think about his next step.

Yes...
The xbox 360 also automatically signs in without having to use the kinect camera...
Theres quite a few features the xbox 360 has that the xbox one doesn't.
I know your frustration.
EDIT: if you REALLY want to play movies, use sky drive or one drive, what ever its called.. thats what im doing now. only problem is the file size cannot exceed 2gb

I think I'm going to disconnect my Kinect and put my 360 back in the living room. I think auto sign-in is the only thing my kinect does right. I probably should have recalibrated it but oh well...

the ONLY voice command mine occasionally chokes on is "xbox on"... then i say "xbox juan" and boom it works

I got tomb raider last time it was on sale.
GREAT game.
Not very challenging but the story telling was amazing.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for a good game for really cheap.
I'll hold off on strider because it fits the profile of a games for gold title...

Does Killer Instinct have a story mode to it like MK 9 did? IM thinking about getting the xbox one just for Killer Instinct.
