If you have HD AV cables you can run those from your Cablebox to your TV and just run the HDMI cable from the Cablebox to the xbox and that'll work just fine.

yea a switch just allows you to plug multiple HDMI devices into a hub that controls which device will actually get used. useful when you have something like a ps4, bluray player, and a cable box and your tv only had 1 HDMI input.

Where can I buy those cables.
I have my dish box connected to my xbone right now cause I don't really watch much TV and so I can snap whenever I want.. but it would be nice if I wanted to watch TV without the xbone on or having to unhook the cable and putting it back on the TV.
