Not that bad. Its been a few years since I bought my last graphics card and I didnt drop too much on my new one. As for the boom arm and shock mount (they weren't that expensive), my friends and I started two podcasts recently so they are going to get their use. Even if no one listens, its still fun to record and talk **** with my friends.

Dudes jus didnt do their homework... my sennheiser hd650s should be here any day. Mod mic 4.0 as well... 350 spent not including the amp but i have a superior gaming headset to 99% pf gamers out there and a real serious pair of headphones for music/movies.
So yea.. build your own. Dont buy astros... theyre made by skull candy

Mixamp is trash comparitively. Convenient but trash. My setup is in my office so I can hide as many wires as need be.
You guys focused on the wrong part though... you can take any nice headphones and make a farrrr superior headset to that turtle beach garbage they push at 10000x markup
Audio technica m50s are 100 bucks. Kingston hyper cloud 2 100 bucks. V moda 100... add a mic and boom pwning noobs in no time
