Pretty common. That first command is always kinda stubborn for me too. Hopefully, this recent update cleans that up a bit, cause it said it would address some kinect command "fluidity"

Mine works all the time. Make sure you say Xbox on normally. No big pause between the words and don't draw it out. The commands that pretty much always work for me are Xbox on, Xbox turn off and Xbox go to Netflix. I don't understand why those happen to be the most consistent cause some of the other ones act funny.

Mine worked everytime in my room.. then worked once in a while downstairs.. then realized I never recalibrate the kinect when I moved it down.
