2015 New Orleans Saints Official Thread--[[[Who Dat ]]]

Yup the Pats were guaranteed to get a touchdown on the next play.
Most definitely. The Panthers hate is REAL. The refs just cheated NE out of a chance to give us more of a lead in the NFC South.

The New Orleans Saints' game against the Carolina Panthers on Dec. 8 has been flexed to primetime and will air on NBC, the network announced Sunday.

The game, which was originally scheduled for noon, will now kick off at 7:30 p.m. in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers were originally scheduled to play in that time slot.

The move, which has been the subject of some speculation for several weeks, comes as no surprise with the Packers and Falcons struggling. The Packers (5-5-1), who are without injured quarterback Aaron Rodgers, have not won a game since Oct. 27. They've lost three out of the last four and tied with the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

The Falcons (2-8), have lost their last five, most recently to the Saints.

The Saints and Panthers (8-3) are 1-2 in the NFC South division, and their game will have playoff implications. The ascending Panthers have won seven straight and are a game behind the Saints in the division.

The Saints (9-2) have won three straight games and will face the Seattle Seahawks on Dec. 2, which will be their fourth primetime game. The game against the Panthers will be their fifth this season, and the third straight in primetime.

The Saints have won 12 straight night games in the Superdome.

YASS. Can't wait to crush them in the Dome in primetime. HATE the Panthers with a passion. We gon prove their season to be a fluke (extremely easy schedule thus far, only beat 2 good teams, the refs gave em one game). Gotta get past Seattle first though.

:smh: gotta take this L on the chin & keep pushin...highest we can get now is 2nd in nfc playoff seedin & now we tied w/ Carolina in nfc south; I don't wanna harp on this game cuz it was bad all over ya heard me...its still WHO Dat tho

How right you are. That was the first time I've cut a Saints game off at halftime. Oh well, I'm so looking forward to next Sunday. Home Sweet Dome. :pimp:

The New Orleans Saints waived kicker Garrett Hartley on Tuesday after missing two field goals against the St. Louis Rams. Cornerback Chris Carr was also waived.

The Saints will reportedly sign veteran Shayne Graham, according to Fox Sports. Graham, who has been in the league since 2000, is a Pro Bowler who has made 245-of-287 lifetime kicks.

It's been a roller-coaster season for Hartley, who has made only 22-of-30 (73 percent) of his kicks this season. During one stretch, he missed four-of-six kicks, prompting coach Sean Payton to bring in five kickers, including Graham, to work out in November.

The Saints stuck with Hartley at that point, and he rewarded them with three field goals in a 23-20 win against the San Francisco 49ers on Nov. 17, including the game winning 31-yarder as time expired.

Hartley's inconsistencies resurfaced against the Rams. He missed a crucial 26-yarder at the end of the fourth quarter, and also had a 36-yard attempt blocked.

It seems like Sunday's loss to the Rams was the final straw.

On Sunday following the game, Payton said he "saw enough" in regards to benching left tackle Charles Brown. It looks like he'd seen enough of Hartley, too.

"I think we're looking closely at every element," Payton said on Monday. "I told the players today at the team meeting we're looking closely at each aspect of this team. I think in not trying to read into my answer, it's important for us to do that."

Hartley, a six-year veteran, has spent his entire career with the Saints, and is famous for making a 40-yard kick that sent the Saints to Super Bowl XLIV.

However, his career has had its challenges.

In 2009, he was suspended four games after testing positive for Adderall. The Saints brought in former kicker John Carney, and Hartley remained inactive until Game 12 before earning his job back and eventually kicking the game winning field goal in the NFC Championship over the Minnesota Vikings.

In Super Bowl XLIV, Hartley became the first kicker to convert three field goals of 40 yards or more.

But things changed in 2010 after Hartley missed three of seven field goals to start the season. The Saints briefly re-signed Carney before ultimately sticking with Hartley.

Hartley injured his hip in the 2011 preseason and was placed on injured reserve. The Saints signed John Kasay for the season, and Hartley had to compete with him in the 2012 offseason to earn his job back. The Saints also signed rookie Jose Maltos to compete with Hartley in training camp last summer, but Hartley earned the starting job every time.

Now it seems like Hartley, who made 82-of-101 lifetime kicks with the Saints, has finally parted with the team for good.

"Wishing (Hartley) all the best in his future. His foot helped us win a Superbowl," Saints punter Thomas Morstead tweeted on Tuesday.

"Best of luck to my guy @GHartley5 He will be back in League in No time," long snapper Justin Drescher said via Twitter. "Great kicker and better person! Nothing but best for ya buddy!"

I heard. & they're benching Brown in so Armstead can start. Hope he does MUCH better than Brown has all season. Anybody think we oughta sign Asmougha after waiving Carr?

Nvm, they signed S Eric Frampton (6 year player, experience with R. Ryan last year in Dallas). Payton said he'll be used for ST, but I wouldn't mind seeing him get reps in the backfield with Trevin Wade (the CB that hasn't played a snap since we signed em, anybody else forget about em??). Maybe Frampton could have Harper's snaps (or roster spot). As of now, I like that they're on the team. We need all the secondary help we can get.

Saints just a different team away from the dome...from fighting for the #1 overall NFC seed to on the verge of not makin the playoffs...that 2 min drill was horrible... secondary still weak...now I gotta hope ATL get that w so the saints get that bye :smh: inconsistency kills ya heard me

Congrats, Saints fans. The loss was hard to take but it's not as bad as the 2004 SB loss or STL, CAR, TB consecutively.

Good luck in Seattle. Keenan Lewis put clamps on D-Jax.
