These are hella slept on. Leather quality is good and only HoH had them at my mall. If these sit on the shelf and go on sale, I will definitely double up.

I grabbed 2 pairs of these for me and another pair for my 19 year old son at our local mall. My son got 30% off of his since he's an employee and I used my rewards card for mine.
The leather and suede is very, very nice. I'm glad that people slept on these. These Laneys will become a shoe that most people will regret passing on in a few years from now.
This release reminds me of when I took my same son on a road trip from Denver to Chicago in the late summer of 2009. I bought the 2009 AJ1 "SHADOWS" for both of us and everybody was saying the same thing..."PASS" and/or "UGLY". Whelp...fast forward 4+ years later. Now everybody and their momma wants a pair of 2009 AJ1 Shadows, because of the superior leather and nubuck on them. I'm certain that these shoes will become that shoe that AJ1 fans must have, just as the 2009 Shadows are. There are only 3 other pairs of AJ1's that came out in the past decade that had top notch quality leather, nubuck or suede on them like these. Those shoes are the AJ1 Shadows, Banned 1's, and the ATCQ (A Tribe Called Quest) Midnight Marauders. Yes, I have all of them and not one AJ1 of this year including the Black/Royal AJ1's, nor the Knicks have top quality materials like these. All 4 of those shoes that I mentioned earlier kill my Royal 1's, Knicks, Black Toes and especially my Chicago's. Yes, I said it...these Laney's have much better leather than any of the other AJ1's of this year. Mark my words, these shoes are sleepers, but creepers. They will creep up and be considered one of the best AJ1's to come out like the Banned 1's, 2009 Shadows & ATCQ Midnight Marauders.

^ I agree with most of that, but you talk about AJ1 quality and don't even mention the Vegas RTTG from last year. Those are what quality 1's should be like. As far as these, I think the colorway appeals to people the way a Shadow 1 does. A lot of people passed on those because it was an OG colorway without the OG treatment. Low and behold, they waited and got it this year with solid quality IMO.
I bought these cause I haven't purchased many pairs over the past 3-4 months and 1's are some of the most worn and versatile sneakers in my collection. Quality is definitely on point, and the material choices are unique for any NA1. Definitely a nice add to my collection, and a little surprising these didn't seem to even register on anyone's radar. I figured the bay area would be going after these hard since they're Warriors colors, but even that didn't happen. Any release that can go under the radar like this is a good thing though.

^We can't forget the Levi's, Laser Premier, "Gucci" Premier, and the Easter basket weave Premier 1's all from 2008!!! All of which have better leather than any pair from 2009 and most 1's these days. Also the Laker OG colorway from 2009 has the same slightly tumbled leather, in the same areas as the 2009 Shadow 1's do. As far as these Laney 1's I think quality is up there for JB nowadays and they do look better with yellow laces. This AJ 1 fan just can't do the colorblocking on them though, lol!!
