I don't see how Spurs don't all retire. 4-1 blowout against your finals rival is as perfect as it gets.
 @ the Heat being the Spurs final rival. We just making these stories up now or did you really buy in to what the media is selling?

Not to mention now they all have to retire after winning :smh:

Rockets won't be any better. They'll still lose to to POR or OKC in the first round.

I don't see why ppl keep entertaining the idea that the Spurs will ever not be good. You gotta wait until rumors of Pop/Timmy retiring to even consider it.

If the Spurs aren't a factor there's still the Clippers and OKC to have the west before we just give it to the Rockets.

POR has potential, but i think OKC has already reached their ceiling with that group. KD and russ have done everything possible, and still come up short time after time. something has got to change for them to actually take the next step.

if the rosters of both teams stay about the same next season, and the rockets add bosh, i dont see how any team would legitimately make it past them in the WCF.

im not a rockets fan, but beverly, harden, parson, bosh, and dwight would be a nightmare. each player compliments each other perfectly based on their playing styles.

i dont think theyre ALL gonna retire. parker isnt that old. i can see tim and pop retiring together though. manu is up there in years, but his role is perfectly suited for him at this age. i wish AI took the same route :rolleyes

Yeah but I feel OKC's ceiling is better than what the Rockets have now and would still be better than what they would have if you add Bosh. I feel the same about the Clippers against the Rockets.

I'm still having a hard time seeing how the Rockets get out of the 1st round even if you add Bosh and all team's rosters basically stay the same. Adding Bosh isn't really gonna solve the problems that caused them to lose to POR. I mean basically they'd have to get Bosh and be a top 3 team in the west just so they could face a weaker team in the 1st round.

i get what youre saying. the problem with the clippers is that they dont have a go to scorer. yeah jamal crawford is good, but they dont have a "superstar" that will carry them. please dont say chris paul. yeah hes dubbed a superstar, but hes not gonna drop 30 on you every night. blake is one dimensional. he has his moments, but youre doc isnt gonna be like "we need a basket, give it to blake".

OKC needs a better supporting cast and front court depth. hell they need depth all around. i also think they could use a coaching change.

the rockets on the other hand have a designated scorer in harden, a versatile parsons that can light up a team if he flips the switch, a defense juggernaut, and bosh who can stretch the floor and get his points when needed. if they stopped complaining after every foul and bench lin, they might actually get somewhere. last year was the first year they were all together, so i could only assume theyd grow from there.

Kawhi and Mills gonna make Pop reconsider things.

I thought about that. It's crazy how Kawhi's emerged, just cuz I feel like I've seen that type of player so many times. And 9/10 times they hit that 13 and 6, decent defender, 3rd option ceiling and stay there. And just persona-wise he didn't seem like that 1 outta 10 guy. But Pop got it out of him. That's a reason to keep going.

If the Clips need a basket Doc is gonna say give it to CP and let him score or create. He's come through for them many times before in their 2-3 playoff runs. He may not be their go to scorer but he's their clutch player.

I'm very aware of what the Clips and Thunder need to get better. I'm not saying they're Spurs level and locks for the wcf but right now they're the best bet for it in a situation of the best of the rest. I just don't see the Rockets suddenly being that much better given how they lost this year and the playoffs before. To me this is more about not seeing how the Rockets get that much better just by adding Bosh than the Clips or Thunder being huge powerhouses. I mean they have all of what you say and still got beat convincingly in tough games against Portland who were basically first timers coming back to the playoffs after getting their **** together.

Plus this assuming the Spurs don't dominate once again next year. When it comes to those playoff teams I could see the Spurs sweeping the Rockets.

well see i think thats where the clips struggle though. aside from their facilitator, they dont have clutch player to make the shot.

this is all speculation of course, so we'll have to just wait and see.

i think all bets are off if tim retires this year. i think its the last year of his contract right? going out with a ring isnt a bad way to end your career.

back to the knicks though...i wish they would trade melo for blake. i feel like that would help both teams. and then kd signs as a FA in 2016 :smokin

i want melo to stay, but i think this would be the best situation for all those involved.

I dunno, to me I'm not a fan of making the first move like that. Cuz then we could just be left with Blake, a power dunker that also makes awkward looking shots in the paint and has an on again off again mid range game. I'll wait until at least Rondo or Love is already on the team before I pull the trigger on trading Melo for Blake.

Why are you guys responding to uchicago15 uchicago15 ? The guy obviously isn't providing anything of substance to the thread and dislikes the Knicks. He just wants to come here and rustle peoples jimmys. Carry on, fellas.

Bosh stays in Miami and takes a pay cut. His wife loves it there and bangs mad celebs there. She runs **** so he'll do what she wants.

Wade's forced to take a pay cut because he sucks now. He's done. No choice

LeBron stays becomes he runs Florida now and they don't have income tax or state tax.

Carmelo doesn't go to Miami.

What this means is people want headlines and reactions. It doesn't mean a ******* thing. Carmelo is opting out. He wants a new contract. New York is still the favorite but he could go somewhere else for the right money or with the right players.

I'm not even going to read Into any of this speculation.

I just want this offseason to get a move on and see what happens.

Want some Phil Zen mojo to occur

why?

well for one Tony Parker is only 32.

Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobli at ages 38 and 36 respectively both have shown a ton left in the tank.

If the Spurs pick up Parker's contract for next year and Duncan opts in they'll still have $8.2 million to spend whilst retaining a supporting cast of Parker, Ginobli, Kawhi, Duncan, Splitter, Danny Green, Belinelli, Ayres, and Joseph.

And Kawhi at only 22 (turning 23 this month) is already arguably a top-5 player at his position with potential to be a top-3 guy (he could easily be better than Paul George and Carmelo Anthony, as well as superior to Wiggins and Parker).

Is that reason enough for you? They can make another title run with their eyes closed. With $8.2 million free they can address any need they have.

That $5 million cap increase for the upcoming season has made a lot of dangerous teams potentially even more dangerous come free agency.

Doesn't matter if they win the title this year, if your body permits you're going to play as long as possible to win as much as possible. I don't like the Spurs but knowing what drives them leads me to believe that they'd rather defend their imminent title reign rather than riding off in the sunset. I think they'd much rather go out on their shields.
