Kobe may retire a knick?

Westbrook would thrive as a Knick. He's built to play in this city, not to mention fashion capital. [emoji]128530[/emoji]

it just wouldnt make sense if the trade did happen westbrook and durant on the knicks... obviously i would love the trade even though it would never happend but what would be the difference compared to okc? great regular season but suck in the playoffs

I was listening to STAT on Espn Radio New York @robinlundberg show the other night... and he said he believes Melo is going to be in a knick uniform next season.

Despite all these reports that Melo is "opting out" ...its just a tactical move to draw up a new contract for more $$$.... (eg: jr smith)

but how much strategy is it when it's known you're asking for a max contract and they're going to give it to you?

Part of it is related to Melo never experiencing free agency in the NBA. He's always either signed an extension or was involved in a sign and trade when he came to the Knicks. There's nothing wrong with him wanting to experience free agency.

Frankly, I think Melo will re-sign with the Knicks this offseason, but he will also hear offers from other teams. It's just a process.

I mean if we lose Melo, then we lose Melo. Nothing we can do about it. I'm sure Phil Jackson will try his best to sign him here. Let's just see how the cards play out. It's not the end of the world if we do lose out on Melo. 2015 free agency will give us an opportunity to retool and rebuild the team. Interesting to see how all this plays out.

On a side note:

I really don't think we're a bad team to be honest with you. We need a competent PG who can do his job distributing the ball and keeping the offensive flow and can play a bit of defense. Last year we lost a lot of games, because of poor PG play/defense. It would also help if we brought in some veterans who can be a presence in the locker room as well. Woodson did a poor job making adjustments and the lost control of the season.

I'd also like to see move JR if Phil or Fisher can't get him to contribute and play into the Triangle. THJr would be perfect, because he's young and can still be taught good habits.

Shumpert needs to step up his offensive game and take it to the next level. No one is asking him to score 20+ ppg, but he needs to hover around 14-16 ppg and play solid defense for us to have some sort of spark of the bench. Usually the best teams in the league always has a great perimeter defensive player than can also shoot the open 3 as well i.e. James Posey, Shane Battier, Trevor Ariza, Bruce Bowen, Matt Barnes, Andre Iguadola etc etc

We'd also need to have another center, because Aldirch isn't the answer. I like Tyler, but IDK how much his height plays a disadvantage against the bigger centers in the league.

With the cap situation this offseason--I don't expect the Knicks to make many moves, but let's see what Phil can do. Obviously moving Felton would be the first move and bringing in a better PG. The rest will have to follow. I wonder if we've ever looked into investing in better international scouting. The Spurs practically kept the wheels turning on those titles runs because they've scouted extremely well. It's def something to model a franchise around.

Melo's really leaving b. Damn.

Going to take me a few days to recover and hater my thoughts.

Only way Kawhi will be better than Melo is if he can keep his defense level at what it is right now and than become a consistent 23+ppg scorer and shoot 45% or above from the field. Don't see his offensive game flourishing like that though.

According to Yahoo! Sports Melo leaning towards leaving Knicks. Chicago and Houston are front runners [emoji]128530[/emoji]
