Alfa Romeo tried to get back to the US market a few years ago with the 8C but that thing sold for $200k+ and in very limited numbers. Now the 4C is supposed to be a fraction of the price, closer to Cayman/Lotus but still supposed to be only double the production number of the 8C so it'll still be very limited.

On to some details...

To save weight, the 4C is built out of aluminum, steel, carbon fiber and fiberglass-reinforced composites. 40 percent of the car's 1,973-pound mass lies on the front axle and 60 percent rests on the rear. The car's low weight makes it possible for Alfa to eliminate the power steering system.

Mopar-Tuned
Thanks to the tie-up between Fiat and Chrysler, buyers will be able to deck out their 4C with a full catalog of Mopar-designed accessories including a rear spoiler, large wheels finished in black or gray, painted brake calipers all around, chrome-plated mirror skins, a sporty tail pipe for the exhaust and a colored engine cover. Race tires developed by Pirelli specifically for the 4C are also available.

Under the 4C's rear decklid lies a turbocharged and direct-injected four-cylinder engine, the mid-mounted engine sends 240 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque to the rear wheels via a six-speed TCT dual-clutch transmission equipped with launch control. The sprint from zero to 62 mph takes 4.5 seconds and top speed is reached at over 155 mph. Rumors indicate a more powerful 270-horsepower variant will arrive later in the production run but Alfa has not commented on the matter.

Brembo brakes all around help keep the engine's power in check and slow the 4C from 62 mph to a full stop in 118 feet.

"Because the Competizione was too dope for the states, we present you with this..."

Looks like it would be really fun on the track. I wonder how reliability will be. Parts will be $$.

Does this platform share any parts/structure to the 15' SRT Hemi Cuda?

I don't think so, haven't read anything about it. Plus this car is very small, suppose to be smaller than an Audi TT with a small engine, probably farthest car I could think of if a hemi muscle car is mentioned.

Wow, I didn't realize that this car was that small. But I do know that the Cuda will be smaller than the Challenger.

Id take a Cayman over this easy.

I am with you there but there is something that looks a bit more exotic with the 4C, I can't quite put my finger on it. It'll be pretty rare to, I believe they plan to make 3500 a year and only half (or less?) might be destined for the US.

There's something about this car that I like, it's the aggressive shape and the early 2000's Lamborghini style wheels. That with the Mopar connection has me curious. I could see these being very solid sports cars.
