2014 NFL Draft Thread

I wonder if the Raiders will jump to the Texans spot. It's become playoff competitive or bust for our GM and coaches this year. If they feel there's a guaranteed franchise QB to take I think Reggie might pull the trigger.

Browns would seem like a good candidate for that.

And then do something stupid like take Manziel

I was thinking that too

It's gotta be normal consensus that if you take the #1 away from Houston, you take Teddy 1,000,000 times out of a 1,000,000.

seen two mocks with the pats taking ASJ in the 1st & Coleman in the 2nd :pimp:

never will happen tho
Or take the next Aqib-Talib, Dennard. If the former doesn't return obviously. His gamble paid off, taking the 1/5 instead of a 5-year offer to cash in 2014.

Tell me how Sammy Watkins doesn't become Mike Wallace 2.0? And I say that in a bad way.

Sanders probably won't be in Pittsburgh....I would like to see them get Mike Evans, and if not him, maybe Nix from Notre Dame.

Tell me how you watch both of them play & think they're remotely similar as players
The only thing Sammy and Wallace have in common is elite vertical speed. Watkins is improving as a route runner and has a higher potential ceiling than Nuk. He's very good at creating separation, creates explosive plays, and has above adequate hands. Sammy is the first WR off the board and Lee and Evans are chasing by a significant margin.

Shoooot....I'd take Sammy right now, today, over Wallace. He'll do so much more in the League.
Exactly. Sammy has made a conscious effort to improve his route running and rebound from a lackluster sophomore year.

The only negative I want to bring up is losing focus and concentration when the scoreline got out of hand hosting FSU in a blowout.

Yeah I don't really watch much of Clemson so I'm sure I'm wrong and trust you guys more. The speed thing probably made me bias, and I dislike Wallace quite a bit.

Sammy is an all around receiver, Wallace is just bubble screens and go routes

Browns need to move to that metallic orange helmet. That would be a sick upgrade. :smokin Perhaps some slight uni alterations as well and they could become the NFL leader in Manziel jersey sales....

They're supposed to make changes for 2015 season.

Yeah there will be new jerseys for the 2015 season. Kind of bitterwseet though, because their classic jerseys but honestly - it's time for a change. I'm anxious to see what they'll look like. I always said that grey would be a dope mix with brown and grey. I hope Nike handles most of the creating process.

It's been stated by Jimmy Haslam that the helmet will remain unchanged, so I doubt the helmet would be metallic.

I would be bummed if we don't somehow get Manziel...but I would be happy to see him on the Browns if we can't get em. I wanna see the Browns do big things. I'd like to see the Texans with Bridgewater.

Dont worry yall could be a Skins season ticket holder like me and have franchise that was once proud... now its just wow really we are a damn joke

3rd pick?

Dangerous spot potentially if the Rams trade #2. Bucs have to be proactive if the Rams are serious about trading that pick. The Bucs, out of the teams picking top 10, are the ones who can probably most afford to do so. Solid core of that team and a legitimate Q will tie it all together.

I have no expectations for the Vikings right now. 8th pick is no man's land and I can see them doing all sorts of moves/picks. BPA might be the way and see if they can snag Mettenberger in round 2. May be too soon, but they can't afford to get cute. Perfect situation for him in my opinion. Sit behind Cassel while he heels up. Let him carry that playbook every where to know it cover to cover. Play him when ready. That's ideal for how I see it.

A good chance he won't get past #5
