2014 NFL Draft Thread

Son, Dirk, tmay, do you see him making it in the NFL?

I mentioned Favreish, Dirk also mentioned Favre and Romo, is that what you expect? A gunslinger, numbers guy, exciting one play, what the **** were you thinking the next?

You guys think he'll be a top 15 guy, or a bottom 15 guy?

Me, right now, I hope he stays another year to keep working, but with the way the NCAA guns for him, he may HAVE to leave early, which isn't entirely fair.

If he ended up on a roster with a smart OC, or at least a Kelly HC type, cool, but if he ends up on a bad roster, with low talent/coaching, it's a wrap before it even begins for the kid. (as with anybody)

I really have no clue what to expect from him at the next level. Quite a few of his "knocks" seem to be really baseless ESPN regurgitations though.

honestly i think he has the talent to make it. he has the physical ability. it all may come down to what type of organization and coaching staff gets their hands on him. he's got great instincts that you really can't teach. if you can possibly get him to curb the plays where he circles in the backfield for 20 yards, throwing off his back foot, other little things, you could have a really good QB. i can't necessarily say he'll be top X QB because there's so much that goes into it.

rams need depth on that line , quinn looked gassed

offensive line and a checkdown tight end might be

good for them also

I think he'll succeed if off-field stupidity doesn't run his train off the tracks, and I think even that is overblown... He's talented as hell. And i think he's mentally strong enough to struggle a little early through some of the transition and power through it..

Does he fit in every system? No way. Are there guys that can build a system around him and be successful? Yeah, I think so.

Well damn.

49ers already have 12 draft picks for next year, with a comp pick (likely to be a 3-4) for Dashon Golston coming as well. :wow: :smh:

They have their
1
2
3
KC 3
Tenn 3
Comp
4
5
6
7
Car 7
Indy 7
NO 7

And that's with them taking Tank Carradine and Marcus Lattimore last year and having them on ice. And they already have Reid, McDonald and Patton all playing now and learning. :smh:

These guys are set up real nice going forward. If Tank and Lat come back even close to who they were gonna be, God damn.

I know all those 7's don't add up to much, but it gives them something to bargain up into say the 4th-5th round and catch someone that dropped over bs. Happens every year.

Flip side, with Indy giving them their 7, and a 1 to Clev, and a 4 to Cleveland, the Colts are already down to 4 picks in a loaded draft. :\ They only have a 2-3 and 5-6 left, I would hope they trade back 1 or 2 times to try and add a couple extra bodies at least. They will by far be the weakest team in the Draft next year.

once its time to pay up they might have to shed a little fat

aldon smith getting a mario williams light deal

colin kaepernick cashing out also

has mike lupati gotten his extension?

Im hoping the Niners put some picks together and trade for another first or second round pick and possibly get 2 quality starters we could use right away. Specifically at WR and CB. No point in picking a bunch of guys in the later rounds that arent going to make the team considering we have so many guys that we are grooming right now for next year.

I know that it is way early for mocks, pointless, meaningless, etc etc. I know, please don't lecture me. Just a couple 3 rounders on the web that give ideas of what teams are facing, depth, etc. I put them in spoilers, don't like mocks, don't click on them then, etc. Just reference stuff early in the year, see what it looks like in 6-7 months.

It's like when marshawn was available from buffalo and Green Bay didn't make the move.. Hell, I would call the jags too and see if Blackmon could be had

In both of those mocks, if Thomas is there in the 2nd we're taking him (eagles)... Gives chip way too many options on offense especially with the possibility of maclin not coming back and if he does not being the same..

Plus what he offers on special teams

And if mariota or hundley isn't there in the 1st, we're definitely going defense or maybe WR.. I could see a big guy like Evans being an option to compliment desean

But we obviously need secondary help, primarily safeties and corners.. We could use an OLB (Barr?) or a nt (nix)

Mettenberger bout to kick a lotta doors wide open.

His hype looks legit so far today.

Jaws, are you gonna watch the tamu v Arkansas game? Just wanting to know so I can see what you see as you watch Manziel. If that makes sense

Aaron Murray looking real solid today, don't know about the Cowboys drafting him though.

I approve of the Jackson Jeffcoat pick though.
