2014 NFL Draft Thread

Figured as much.

The thought of Watt + Clowney together is ridiculous. :smh:

That's real hard to pass up...Watt is already a freakish athlete; add this guy and :wow:. Clowney relies too much on his natural ability IMO; he has no moves/technique. If Watt took this guy under his wing and clowney was willing to listen...that would keep D Coordinators up nights

Clowney's work ethic question would still give me pause as a GM though. I'd prob watch hours of practice tape on the guy before making a final decision.

If the Texans do take him, Colts better draft about five o-lineman in a row.

Peter King's opinions coming out of the combine:

1. Houston: Blake Bortles, QB, Central Florida.
2. St. Louis: Greg Robinson, T, Auburn.
3. Jacksonville: Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina.
4. Cleveland: Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville.
5. Oakland: Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M.
6. Atlanta: Jake Matthews, T, Texas A&M.
7. Tampa Bay: Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo.
8. Minnesota: Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA.
9. Buffalo: Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson.
10. Detroit: Taylor Lewan, T, Michigan.

If Sammy gets past the Bucs he's coming to Detroit.

Please God, not Sammy to Buffalo.

I needed to see Clowney cross that finish line then leave the combine Dieon style.

The NFLN panel was all up in their feelings because Clowney didn't do any other drills.

Double triple teams, short drops, rolling away and him simply missing on some sacks when they were there

Donald is looking good, @ 285 he's sorta pigeonholed into that 3-tech lane
yup.. the late great jim johnson would have been salivating.. put him in a 1 gap defense and you'll have a monster

If Teddy ends up in Cleveland we will see another great season for Josh Gordon. Does Jacksonville need a QB or DE more?

I really think Atlanta might pull a Julio again if Clowney doesn't go 1. Rams are praying for this.
yup.. but atlanta really cant afford to make that kind of deal again with the needs they have at other positions

to move up to 6, the falcons traded picks: 27, 59, 124 in the 2011 draft and  their 2012 1st and 4th round picks

I wouldn't be completely suprised to see the Falcons reach on Ebron at 6. They're going to miss Gonzo VERY badly if they don't get a damn good replacement.

If not, could definitely see them trading down a few spots to take him.

Taking a Tight End with a top 6 pick however costs people jobs. I don't care how great Ebron will be, top 6 is flat out unwise.

If we do trade up to the #2 pick, I dont think we will give up as much as we did in 2011. We moved up 21 spots to get Julio ( I could be wrong about this, cant remember off the top) we'd only be moving up 4 spots this time. If we have to sacrifice that much to get Clowney then it's not worth it. There are plenty of good prospects that we need all throughout the draft. Like somebody said earlier, Clowney can't make a difference on both sides of the ball for us

^ if i'm atlanta, i hope mathews or robinson falls to me..

then i can get a TE in the 2nd.. or move up to the late 20s and grab kony ealy

I hope we dont grab a TE until Rd 3 or 4. I think we should give Toilolo a chance, he's the tallest player in the league at 6'8 I think. We need to utilize him and take advantage of this mismatches. His blocking though, needs work.
