2014 NFL Draft Thread

I actually didn't know his drops percentage was that much higher, was Lee's drop% similar the year before? Although his catching technique isn't very good, you can teach that.

To further illustrate this point

Other potential first round guys:

My dude Landry dropped 2 catchable passes the entire season.

KB pulled that off in the first quarter of the National Championship game.
But which ones ran a sub 4.5?

i mean, i already told yall it's hard to be completely unbiased when i know the guy. sorry for rooting for a friend |I

have i made irrational arguments though? i'm not saying dude is a sure fire HOFer, just don't know why yall dismiss him like he didn't torch college football the last two years. oh right, it's because he's 3 inches shorter than the other prospects. :rolleyes
You & Johnny are friends? :nerd:

Not the first time on NT. Trillipino trapstar was friends with DMC.

-all this talk about Clowney giving effort in the league is getting old. Just seems like after South Carolina was out of national championship contention and he was out of Heisman contention he just put it on cruise control. Really don't see a problem with that, its not like he comes from money like Maziel or McCarron, he was doing enough not to get injured and make sure he gets the maximum $$$ he possibly can. Why go all out for something less than a BCS championship when the people at the next level already know what you can do. And sustain a serious injury and potentially lose everything.

-Mike Sam really did not look like he was prepared as far as being in shape

DB day @ the combine :pimp:

Brooks dropping the 4.41

Dennard w/ the 4.42

Gilbert w/ the 4.35

Gaines (small school kid) w/ the 4.34

Because Pryor is better at everything except knockout blows

No way Exum is playing CB in the L, dude is a safety all the way. Won't be Richard Sherman'ing him, like I thought teams would attempt to do

haha is the better coverage guy..

but on tape pryor is a better all-around guy.. but pryor tries to blow people up and misses some times.. granted he does fly around.. but if you can get bucannon in the 3rd or late 2nd and clean us his technique, he's a similar type player

and jimmie ward actually being 5-11 is a good look for him.. thought he might come up 5-9ish

also, wouldnt mind getting exum later on and moving him to safety, as you mention

What did Quise do that makes him a 2nd round WR all of the sudden? I don't see it.
Coming off a lackluster year IMO he had to show out at the combine to secure a 1st round spot this year.

This is one of the deepest WR classes ever. Dude is 5'11 192 and ran a "slow" 40. I just don't see a team taking him in the first.

But I'm a guy on a sneaker messageboard so what do I know?
when you watch lee on flim do you see a slow WR? I sure as hell don't.

and like chester said he went from a good QB to a horrible QB play.

Idk how good Jason verret from TCU is and where hes gonna be drafted, but he may have the sexiest broad ive ever seen

official 40s:

gilbert  4.37

dennard 4.51

verrett 4.38

roby 4.39

pryor 4.58

mcgill 4.51

loston 4.65

jean-baptiste 4.61

fuller 4.49

exum 4.59

clinton-dix 4.58

bucannon 4.49

Marquise Lee had the highest drop rate of all those dudes and the way he body catches I just don't see how he brings more to the table than a 20 year old Mike Evans who already has great hands and is a physical specimen.

Make a list of sub 6 ft sub 200 pound WRs that didn't have elite top end speed that cooked in the NFL as a #1 WR.

Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison off the top of my head.

Oh and some guy named Jerry Rice.

Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Tim Brown, Hines Ward, Derrick Mason, etc...

Plenty of WRs at 6' (or less) that had great careers.

Marqise is still a first round talent, IMO. We'll see what happens.
