2014 NFL Draft Thread

i hope geno shows something so the jets dont have a need at the QB spot..

i also hope that glennon shows something in tampa.. and that pryor continues to play well in oakland.. and that freeman works out for the vikings

and that the browns continue to win games.. and that the texans figure things out at the QB spot.. that the rams decide to keep bradford

basically i want the eagles to have their choice of hundley or mariota whenever our pick comes up in the 1st.. a perfect storm sort of deal like when rodgers fell to the packers in the 20s, just because teams didnt have QB needs

I like Geno's game, but he wasn't a lock to be a great player, every team looks at qbs every year. The Broncos, Patriots, 49ers etc... are looking at qbs too, its due diligence.

Pretty much....You keep harping on QB but there isn't a Luck/RGIII/Manning sitting there. Manziel/Hundley/Mariotta all have huge question marks about them and we aren't going to be in the Bridgewater range, so yea, none of those guys are better than Geno as of now.

No QB in this upcoming draft has better mechanics than Geno.

Really I feel like Bridgewater does his decsion making is better.

I watched a lot Mariota this year his mechanics were sub par at the beginning of this season but he has improved, he should stay in school for another year, but I feel like we won't have a chance to draft him next year.

Manziel needs work in that department.

I haven't seen much of Hundley.

Boyd has at least 5 overthrows every game.

Mettenberger has improved greatly, big test for him this weekend.

all prospects have questions.. until a guy is actually in the league, you dont know for sure.. hell, even with peyton manning their were some who thought ryan leaf should have gone 1st in that draft

i'm not harping on QBs to make some sort of grand comparison with geno.. as i think i clearly stated above, i hope things work out for the jets and geno.. as i do for any team that could potentially take a player that the eagles would be interested in

after sunday, i hope the bucs and glennon have a wonderful season.. hell, maybe nick foles shows that he is deserving of being the QB of the future and then i can start hoping the eagles go after and have a chance to get anthony barr or mike evans

Morris isn't going to make it throwing deep every play. I still haven't seen him throw the ball 8-9 yards over the middle. Everything is outside and/or deep.

Nice that he can make the throws outside and all that, but if he can't throw the ball in the middle of the field, he's going to be easy to defend. I think he's losing draft stock rather than gaining it.

if he can work on his checkdowns and his short balls randomly dying

he's gonna do work...underrated footwork and he rolls out and sets his feet like russell

Intermediate accuracy is a hard thing to get better at, I'm not high on Morris on the next level at all.

As far as character assassination goes, what do yall think they'll say about Teddy Bridgewater when the combine/draft gets closer? Because, you just know it's coming. :smh:

They are too busy destroying Clowney to worry about Bridgewater.

ESPN spent MONTHS hyping that tackle in the bowl game. Now they are spending months trying to claim he's out for himself, doesn't care about the game, his team, etc. Classic ESPN. RyGuy would be proud.

By the time March comes, we'll hear how Teddy can't make reads fast enough at the pro level or something.

Not a character assassination, but some way to diminish his intelligence will pop up.

that wont start till the season starts. his back ground is to good that they will build him up and then break him down 1st.

Sounds similar to a QB who went top 20 in the draft last year, lol

If you see anything, it'll be something like that. Or

EJ avoided the middle in college? I honestly didn't know that. I really didn't pay much attention to him at all pre-draft. I did not expect him to be a highly sought after QB.

And I DAMN sure didn't see him going early.

But I will admit, he's been pretty good in Buffalo. He and Geno both have been better than I would have expected. But I also expect a swing back once coordinators get enough film on them and adjust, hard times could be comin. Russ and Kaep haven't been as sexy this year as they were last year as an example.

Luck on the other hand........ :pimp:

Pressure from the Texans to take Johnny is gonna be 06 VY redux. I was a big advocate of them taking VY I think I could be sold on them taking Johnny if they felt that was the decision they wanted to make.
