2014 NFL Draft Thread

Can I ask why yall care so much about Bridgewater succeeding?

It's not just one or two scouts saying there are a ton of red flags. It's dozens. He tumbled from top pick to late 1st or 2nd rounder now that teams and scouts are doing research and what not. I feel like people here are personally offended by scouts slighting Bridgewater.

BECAUSE THE WHITE MAN IS TRYING TO BRING THE BLACK QUARTERBACK DOWN

Seriously that's what they think. They won't admit it though.

if he doesn't pan out...will be interesting what people say. also, if he flourishes, it'll be interesting to see what analysts and scouts say as they backtrack

Carr didn't impress me in college so it'll be interesting to see what happens in the NFL. On the right team, I think he'll be fine. Put him on a franchise like the Raiders or Jaguars and RIP.

Teddy slipping is perfect.

Defense for the Vikings at 8 and then trade back up into the 1st, just like last year, and get Teddy. It's coming together.

Or, Hymen...They trade back, grab Teddy in the teens, add another second and with their two 2nd and 3rd's they can go defense, defense, defense, defense. Woo!

Both scenarios sound good, I just think we need a signal caller now more than ever. Whats your stance on Blake?

Eh. He probably ends up being a good and serviceable NFL player, but with Teddy possibly being available, alond with AJ in later rounds and then their need for defense, I think they don't need to go that route.

The #realtalk word on Bortles is that he's a 2nd round player, but will go in the first because of teams' desire for a QB. Really, the Vikings aren't that far off once the get the defense together and with that offense, I think Bortles will have an easier transition to the NFL on Minnesota than he would most of the other teams in the top 10.

Im cheering for Teddy because hes getting ripped for no reason. It has nothing to do with him being black. Skinny knees? Really?

Some team is either gonna get a steal with Teddy or they are gonna blow a draft pick and the scouts were right

I'd like to see him succeed but the slander from all over is hard to ignore

Dude does have some skinny *** knees and legs. He just has an awkward *** body type. I've said that since last year.

Derek Carr put up ridiculous numbers, is the best pure thrower in this draft, had a great pro day and he's being pushed back because his brother was a bust and "he's different, not the kinda guy you'd grab a beer with, not sure if teammates would rally behind him."

I don't hear anybody crying their heart out about any slander about him.

Where's the crying about some analysts not even putting Johnny Football in the 1st round in their mocks? Or Merrill Hodge saying he shouldn't go til atleast the 3rd round?

Derek Carr is being pushed back because he **** the bed in every big game in college. Putting up numbers in the MWC is supposed to mean something now? If it was all about who put up the biggest numbers in college, Case Keenum, Timmy Chang, Graham Harrell and Colt Brennan would all be NFL starters right now.

Hoge is an idiot...on Chip Kelly

“I think it’s the most vanilla offense in football,” Hoge said.

"In college, the bottom line is my athlete is better than your athlete. I'm gonna win a high percentage of the time. In the National Football League, it's about matchups. You have to do something each and every week to put your best guys in the best matchups you can create. And I will tell you this, every week when I plug in the Eagles' offense, it's the most vanilla. They start out with the bubble screen, they have the three wide receivers on one side, the option. But I think the thing that's probably most disturbing is it's starting to take its toll and you're starting to see the effects of a college system being applied to the National Football League."

Carr had an opportunity to show up against a big time school with talent all across the board in the bowl game and he was very disappointing. He missed throws all over the field. I haven't heard about anyone not wanting to get a beer with him. Having a fluff schedule and then getting the chance to show your talent on the national scene but bombing it is more compelling.

And stop it, NT loves JFB so you're losing that argument.

What do the skinny knees have to do with his ability to play football? He's not a read option QB.

But the root of what he said, is true and has always been true about that offense.

where did the effects of an college system start to take place though? the offense got better and better as the season went on; if what was happening according to Hoge, the offense would have gotten worse week to week
