2014 NFL Draft Thread

Yea.. I don't get this:“@TonyPauline: League sources tell me they believe Colt Lyerla/TE/Oregon "won't be drafted and will struggle to make it in the NFL"...”

As long as he doesn't get in trouble and stays in shape he won't make it past the 3rd round.

When the process is all said and done, Mariota could be gone by pick #3. QB's always move ahead of everything else, he could be the "RGIII" to Bridgewater's "Luck" when this all wraps up. The guy that flies up the draft board, all the way to #2, with the main guy all along staying at #1.

It's possible someone loves MM more and takes him #1, but that would be the......"risky" pick, because if Teddy balls out, and you passed on him, you lose your job and never work again. If you take Teddy and he fails, well everyone woulda took Teddy, etc etc and you get a second chance.

At this point, I think they will both be fine, provided they are drafted by the right orgs. I worry about Jax, but I hear they are getting the right people in positions to make better decisions, so maybe they have some hope.

I see Cleveland and Mettenberger linked a lot. They won't go with a versatile type QB, but the traditional pocket guy with a big arm. We'll see, but I keep hearing them together every day. Not sure if that's just someone blowin smoke, or maybe the MO of their new GM or what.

^ this year is going come down to who ends up where..

if the giants and atlanta end up high they're going DE.. steelers have to go Oline.. no clue on tampa, i guess it depends on what happens schiano and his feelings on glennon.. ditto for the rams (who own the washington pick)

then you have the vikings with freeman

all i know is brigdewater, clowney, barr and mathews are all going be in the top 5-6

then i wonder what happens with mariota, hundley and boyd.. then you have manziel.. lewan and kouandijio

then the WRs.. and does some team take clinton-dix early

Ebron > asj Van noy is my #2 edge rusher.Barr right behind.

Thoughts on Mack and Beasley

If Foles continues to play at a high level and the Eagles finish around .500, I don't see us taking a qb. We need help rushing the passer I don't see many of those guys in this draft so I wouldn't taking one of the few in the first round than taking secondary help in the second.

Love mack. Im late on him. Didnt hit my radar til OSU.
Lawrence Timmons type all around skills but he may have a lot more pass rush ability. Thats a crazy combo.

If we (eagles) end up in the middle of the draft order, khalil is one of the guys I would love for us to take..

Since the other guys I'm fond of in this draft I'm pretty sure are all going top 10

Skeptical on Beasley. Havent seen kill it enough for me to be super high on him. Friday i'll have time to watch 2 of his games and some youtube play by play highlights from last yr

Evey time I watched Clemson this year Beasley is in the backfield making plays, he needs to get stronger though.

Beasley is gaining love from scouts, they talk him up a lot.

Guy I trust is goin nuts over LG of Florida St right now. (Name escapes me)

I feel like people are down on Purifoy, I think he's the best play making corner in this draft and he's great on special teams

^ i think that goes for all corners in this draft.. or at least the guys who came into the year as possible top 20 picks

Deadset, remember, Ebron will be on tonight against Miami. I know you have a Red Sox game tho, but if you can flip back and forth or DVR or whatever, he's a guy you'll want to keep an eye on at the TE spot.

Matias? Or the RG Jackson.

Vic Beasley is strong as hell, he is just light for a DE. But he likely plays OLB on the next level, so I'm not sure how much of a detriment it will be (see: Keke Mingo)

Surprised there's nothing out there (unless I'm just missing it) for NC State or UGA

I believe Matias is it. LG? Jackson is an easy name to remember, I could have held on to that. He was watchin film of Irving, and came away drooling about Matias for some reason. Not sure what game he was scouting/reviewing tho.

Who was the Clemson pass rusher a year or two ago that was light.....Branch? Wasn't he a little light too? 260 or so. Not sure where he ended up, but maybe Clemson just likes their rushers on the lighter side for speed or somethin?

Dre, I'm toying with a Florida schools only mock for my Dolphin site, and I got to put Easley and Perryman in the same defense. :pimp:  Along with Hurns, Wilder, and Irving. Dolphins haven't taken a Seminole in I don't know how long, and barely started grabbing Canes and Gators the last three years. :smh:

Yeah Matias is the LG , but Jackson (when healthy) is our best lineman overall. That's why I was just wondering.

Ricky Sapp is the Clemson guy you're thinking of? Perhaps? Branch from Clemson is a DT

But ****, Beasley is only 235 lol. I think its just a case of finally finding a spot for him and letting him loose. Venables is off the Stoops tree and they don't really tend to want DE's that light (if they have a choice)

Erving*

I thought Branch was an End, Brandon Thompson was the DT from Clem, same class. Like 60 lbs different tho.

Branch couldn't play DT at 260 could he????

Ebron #Lightwork :nthat:

dat one hand grab. :smh: if Renner could throw at all he woulda had 3 Tubs tonite. Sheeeeeeeeeesh
