How was the early 2000s?

Early 2000s college ball >>>>>>>>>>
I think college basketball is always "better" when you are older than the kids that are playing. College basketball is much more memorable for me up until I graduated from College. Since I have been an adult, I don't care for it half as much as I did when I was in HS. (Other than when I was editing College Hoops 2K8 rosters(

In the South there was Cash Money on the radio (Hot Boys, Juvenile, the young Lil Wayne), plenty of tall white t's, and Girbauds where EVERYWHERE.

Daunte Culpepper to Moss & Carter with Smith in the backfield smh I was crushed when the gisnts blew them out 42-0

Raiders squad with Gannon pre rice and with rice

2000 Olympic bball squad

NBA 2k>>>>live franchise

HoopsTV.com was groundbreaking man. Not sure how many of you were around during that time but that website was essentially the God Father to many of the BallIsLie/YaysAreaFinest/HoopMixtape YouTube channels/sites.

They used to travel to AAU Tournaments and cover some of the best talent in the country.

It was just a great time to be a basketball fan

AWW Man a nostalgia bomb just went off.

And 1 Mixtapes were popping. We was trying to make our own. I lived in a Cul-de-sac, somehow word got out at school me and my boys were gonna put two goals up, run full court and make a tape. My street was LIT! :wow: . Police parked at the corner like it was an event. I think my homeboy still got the tape.

Ok, now this thread is moving in the right direction. Basketball talk.

Streetball: The Show. ESPN following around the AND1 Team city to city. : And1 Espn Streetball Week6 :

The whole AND1 basketball craze is something this current generation will never understand. They mainstreamed crazy ballhandling and hipped many places that had no clue this sub-genre existed.

Before 1999, if an NBA game wasn't in

CHI

NY

DC

LA

DET

If somebody got crossed, the crowd wouldn't make a PEEP. Now, everyone is hip. The popularization of the RUCKER and Streetball (AND1), helped make this possible. Again, great times to be a basketball fan in America.

Dog, FootAction. Remember they would give the VHS Tapes away? You would either just go or you had to buy something. They saw the craze and they started selling them once VOL 3 came out (Hot Sauce Tape).

Great times man. That First Mix Tape, game changer

Probably my favorite thing about 2000s basketball.

NBA.com TV (What it used to be called) was another groundbreaking thing that the 2000s gave us. This is one clip I got from my OLD VHS tapes. I used to record everything. Link in SIG

And NBA Action was always a damn good weekly watch. The internet RUINED television man

Feel the same, but I think that's just me he natural progression. It felt weird being the same age as guys being drafted to the NBA/NFL, but now a couple months from 29, it's even crazier being 6+ years older than guys coming out  Carson Wentz is 23, Andrew Wiggins is 21, Elfrid Payton is 22. A whole different feeling for awhile now

You had to work for things back then.

You think that girls cute? U cant just poke her or swipe.....u had to holla.

You want to download a song?.....u gonna have to search napster and be patient.

jordans?...... U mite have to skip school.

You want to text someone. ?....u gonna have to hit that number 7 four times to get the letter s.

Preps! Lol I used to tune in religiously. I kinda figured Curry would be the one that didn't quite pan out from that group of guys.

NBA Finals Films/NBA Inside Stuff repeats on ESPN would get me hyped for the new season.

Pr0nhub? Nope. Wild on E!, Scinemax, MTV Spring Break, HBO G-String Divas and Real Sex (sometimes). Get in where you fit in.

That's exactly how I feel and I'm 25 I guess its because I looked up to the players growing up

Man my 2000's was spent watching DBZ and Toonami 4pm after school. Gundamn Wing, Inuyashi (whatever it was called ) and Rugrats and Hey Arnold at 7. :smokin

Other than that, it was ballin with my boys at different parks. Going to malls to go shopping with $50 that moms gave me.

Sidekicks

BBM's

I had this black and yellow Ecko hoodie that I flourished in.

Man, I miss it. Im old now b.

Nike Shox hit the scene. Boing!

I got my first pair of AF1s. Had to go to New Orleans.

Nelly dropped that damned song. AKA The beginning of the End.

Collegeclub

What about City Guys? Loved that show.

NBA 2K1 - on the Dreamcast with AI on the cover. GOAT game for me.

MTV Cribs.

And1 mixtapes were dope, Even here in England I copped them.

Cash Money \ No Limit were killing it music wise.

The early 2000's was the era of wearing your at-home gear out of the house.

Doo-Rags with the cape on the back, A-Shirts (wife beaters), and sagging pants showing underwear.

People looked like they woke up, and went straight from the bed out the door.

Street basketball moves made their way across the country, Black America embraced NASCAR apparel, Big guys could no longer find XXL and XXXL tees because all the skinny guys were buying them, and camping for sneaker meant arriving at your local shoe store an hour before they opened.
