Air Jordan XX8 SE Shrouldess Video and Official Pics on Page 1 Shoes Hit Stores 10/11/13

I feel some of y'alls pain regarding playing in these. I've balled in my ASGs twice now since they were delivered and I'm just not that crazy about them, no pain or anything, they're just not for me.

If I could still return them I would, so here's to hoping I get a popped zoom bag so I can send them back for a voucher...

Yea i starting to experience this. It's like the shoes is forcing you to be active on your toes all the time. These shoes are not meant for stationary shooter or pull up jump shooter. It's more like a slasher/ up and down cherry picker type of shoes imo.

Ray Allen disagrees with you about the stationary shooter comments..

Yea Ray Allen average like 5 points a game.... lol When was the last time you see Ray Allen scored 20 points strictly by beating defender off the dribble and then pull up? He's a stationary shooter now.

Was going to bring this exact name up, but not many guys like Ray Allen out there.

I think the XX8's can work for anyone and any style.  I just don't like them as much as other guard-oriented shoes.  I see guys out there, kind of short and stocky guys that will rock something like Kobe VIII's and Lebron XI's and swear by them, even if they aren't the most athletic or versatile players if you know what I mean.  It's all relative.

I had to give these a shot based on the reviews and hype, but they just aren't working for me.

But do you have to be "good" (athletic/skilled) to wear xx shoe and give them a performance review and thoroughly enjoy them?

Yes some shoes are designed for a certain "game" or position but doesnt mean those other types cant enjoy them.

Not trying to stir up anything though thats not my point. Just like posting in here, what you say about a shoe & like in a shoe is all personal opinion/preferrence at the end of the day.

Anyone lookin to grab these at a discount, i posted FTL & FNL coupons on last page and also Eastbay has 20% off on $75 or more. Code is in the coupon thread

Absolutely not, of course anyone/everyone is going to give their opinions and certainly everyone deserves to enjoy them.  But I think it's safe to say people would give more credibility to someone who pushes a shoe hard as opposed to a guy who plays one game and is done for the day.

I don't think the kickgenius guys review shoes that thoroughly a lot of the time, but it seems like they push the shoe on court in a variety of ways.  I would give that more weight than say an overweight guy who walks during games and doesn't do much of anything telling me about a shoe.  Not saying that's what is happening in here at all, but that's my opinion.

When I see reviews, I try to pay attention to the things that really matter to me for how I play.  I want low to the ground, all day comfort, good traction and excellent heel-to-toe transition.  Definitely have Hyperrevs on my list, just wanted to give the SE's a shot.

Gotcha .. I got hyperrevs on my list too

I'm thinking of pickin them up in a month or so wanna see what other cways drop

I gave the hyperrev's a try last month.  They are extremely comfortable, and the full length zoom is great for ball. Lockdown is fantastic. Nice low to the ground court feel.  Traction is ok, not great, but not that bad either.

The biggest problem I had with them was the lack of a heel counter - I really could not feel that secure and comfortable on any quick cuts or change of direction. I could feel the shoe give a little every time I cut, and I simply didn't feel that secure in terms of ankle support.  Running up-and-down, shooting, all fine - but that little bit of give just got to me every time - I gave up on them as a result.

totally concur with the heel slippage... not much, but it does affect the overall feel and confidence level.

Na man Ray ALlen having one of the worst shooting seasons from 3 of his career, if anything this supports the arguement !

But as I say this is how I feel personally - I think Westbrook is prob more the type of player they suit. With that said I think the Kobe 9 would be the best shoe for him in terms of his style + character!

So much for the Zoom being changed in the new solid colorways

Breds 1 month old max bought from shoejocky on ebay popped big time, I'll post pics tonight

Bad bad decision from my part buying them from shoejockey as he won't take them back and as I'm in Australia Nike.com.au don't want to know about it either

I should of waited the extra week and bought them off eastbay

did you play in them, if so, how many games? indoor or outdoor? what is your weight and height? what type of player are you? just want to know some facts because i plan on playing in them this week and if they are going to pop, i will need to bring a backup pair.
