NBA Jam creator rigged the game so the Bulls couldn't make last second shots

i would do the same thing if i programmed an nfl game, cowboys would be dumpster juice

@ Antidope, I think it was mentioned earlier in the thread, but with those "Roster" players all you do is change their last names and the actual player pops up. Works with almost any legend you can think of. If you have an emulator, try it.
I definitely have to try that out, plus I have to see how good those games are nowadays. I remember Live 2003 being the Godfather of basketball game cheese. You could step in front of a and press the charge button and you would just take the ball from him

I found this just as :wow:

What's the rumor we hear about NBA Jam being haunted?

We had already finished making NBA Jam when Drazen Petrovic died. The game had already shipped and he was on the Nets. So we had all of these coin-op machines around, and one night we were playing Mortal Kombat and there was a Jam machine next to it, and all of a sudden the game started calling out "Petrovic!" "Petrovic!" And this only happened after Petrovic had died. Everyone started freaking out. Something weird was going on with the software, and to this day, if you have an original NBA Jam machine every once in a while it will just yell out "Petrovic!" It's wild.

this isnt news. i actually found out about this the hard way a few years ago :smh: also, the Pistons are the most overpowered team in NBA Jam.

the bitterness towards the Bulls though  also, i heard there is a special 1/1 NBA Jam machine created for Michael Jordan that features him in the game. I wonder how come the ROM never surfaced?

Now that I think about it, Zeke & Laimbeer's bully tactics were turned up to extreme levels and Isiah's slams were harder to block lol

This game cover just made me connect why he wasn't in any actual basketball games. I boycotted this game when I found out. He'd rather have been in this than being in what he actually does for a living. Smart business move but the sports fans lost out.

Jordan was in Bulls vs. Lakers, Bulls vs. Blazers, Team USA Basketball, Tecmo Super NBA Basketball, Jordan vs. Bird: One on One.

That was stated. It was later like in 96 where he wasn't in the NBA games and chose to make that other crap

you guys remember the old sega game Jammit...it was a streetball game had a few females and a dude that looked like Celly Cel he had a jerri curl and everything

As big of a Jordan fanboy as I was, that game was horrible. Rented it from a video store and was left disappointed for the whole weekend.

This is the first time I heard of this...will check it out, thanks

yeah it was a pretty tight game you could play one on one, a horse type game, a knockout type game, a game where you could only score points if you dunked and a few others. I spent the majority of my days watching darkwing duck and playing this hours on end.
