im trying for the thick beard . found shaving helps it grow back thick and quick. for the black nters what razor do you use and procedures do you put in place for a nice shave minus the razor bumps?

Black man checking in

1) wash face with exfoliator
2) lather up some black soap (dudu osum) in your hand and slather a layer on your face/shaving area
3) aveeno shaving cream/gel...lather up and put it over the black soap layer
4) shick Quattro with the grain
5) cold water rinse off
6) TENDSKIN!!!!!
7) let the tend skin dry and put on your daily moisturizer (Neutrogena naturals is pretty good)

These steps will have your skin SMOOOTH

Every day you still wash your face with the black soap and put tendskin on...to avoid any ingrown hairs that may come out. And use that moisturizer. Trust me

Aveeno is the dopest cream.

That's alot of steps though my man.

Aveeno and with the grain is fine for me. Must be the white in me eh.

JBCO came in and i've been using it for a few days and I must say the smell is quite unpleasant, but i'm sure the results will be worth it...

a question to all my beard bros that work in an office environment, have you guys ever gone to an interview with a beard? I have an interview with Samsung Semiconductor coming up and I don't really want to shave it off :wow: I was planning on just trimming it and lining it up, like I usually do.

Yep. Multiple times. Just trim and clean up the edges and you'll be straight.

Beards are trendy now anyway, so corporate types aren't tripping like they used to.

Confidence and the way you conduct yourself is more important.

If you act like the beard shouldn't be on your face when you go in, then it shouldn't be.

If you act like it should or doesn't matter, they probably could care less as well.

Fellas I've been massaging the oils on my beard. Sometimes when I watch tv I just massage it. Saw some article saying massaging aids in stimulation. Do y'all do it?
Yea. I do it from time to time. Head massages for my scalp too

Pause.

I trimmed my neck up and di a small line on my mustache but the hairs on my jaw don't wanna thicken up. :frown: Gonna give it 1 more month.

JBCO works for me. Filled in a lot of patches. Hair got thicker.
Been using for 3-5 mnths now. I use it almost daily to moisturize the beard.
I rub in a nickle size amount all over ( proly too much, but **** it) and then brush.
( I also hit up the corners on my hairline. It holds me down :pimp:)

I need some help with some instructions on how to apply castor oil. I got it in a couple of weeks ago but never got around to trying it. When should I be applying it? Before a shower, after a shower, beginning of the day, end of the day, how long do I let it sit, do I wash it out or leave it in, do I sleep with it in, etc, etc.
As well, am I supposed to rub it into my face at the root as well as the beard hair itself?

Really don't understand the point in putting all sorts of oils and **** in your beard, you either have the genetics to grow facial hair or you don't.

It's not about growing, it's about maintenance.

As Black men, we have to go the extra mile to care for our hair. These oils provide nourishment to our hair down to the roots down to the skin, to promote healthy growth. It's not just about getting it to grow..it's about keeping it in good health, keep it shiny, thick, and keep it from shedding. Cats can't just go around not caring for their beards. Cats faces prolly out here feeling like Velcro. You can't eat box with ya face feeling like a porcupine

^^^Man.
Some people use oils to treat, condition and/or sheen.
Some people use it as a magic potion to grow.

Some people care why other people use their oils.
Some people always worry about what others do.
If people use it to grow, shine, or FAP,
I could care less, let them be.

I hear ppl do different thigns a see results. Me, I treat it as a moisturizer after showers in the am. I oil my hair and beard ( smells smokey, but it dont bother me, i get results).
Then I brush. I dont wash it out, i let it rock the whole day. Then shower the next day and oil up again or i might skip a day.
( rub in the beard and try to get to the root as much as I can)

This. You dudes doing too much. It's a damn beard and y'all doing effeminate things to it

We doing feminine things because we like to take care of the way we look? Because we don't wanna be 35 years old with grey hairs and bald spot? If that's the case, I'm a full blown queen.
