Brooklyn Nets 2015-2016 Season Thread

im cool with the marcus thorton deal. we get rid of 2 contracts that we don't need on our books with terry & evans & 2 guys who haven't done much for us this year (& now terry is done for the season). thorton is having a bad year, but he he can potentially be a good spark off the bench (can put up points in a hurry).

Nets to sign Jason Collins

The Brooklyn Nets on Sunday will sign center Jason Collins, who will become the first openly gay active player in North America's four recognized major team sports, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

Collins' decision to sign a 10-day contract with the Nets comes with Glen Davis opting to join the Los Angeles Clippers. The 35-year-old Collins will be in uniform for the Nets against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night, sources say.

The Nets moved quickly to sign Collins to have another big body available against the Lakers.

Davis, set to officially become an unrestricted free agent Sunday at 5 p.m. ET if, as expected, he is not claimed off waivers by another team, already informed teams of his decision to join the Clippers, according to sources.

Collins, already in Los Angeles where he had been working out, will meet with the Nets on Sunday before he is expected to sign a 10-day deal according to multiple sources. ESPN.com reported that the Nets quietly auditioned Collins last week in Los Angeles, paving the way toward this historic signing.

Collins hasn't played in an NBA game since April 2013 with the Washington Wizards. He's been working out on his own for months in the L.A. area after failing to earn an invite to training camp from any of the league's 30 teams in the wake of revealing his sexuality some 10 months ago.

our plan A didn't work out with davis, so we moved to collins. not a bad backup plan, he can defend, rebound, & if we end up signing him past a 10 day contract, he's another body in the paint that can help us.

those TO's at the end killed us last night... JO7 playing pacers era ball didn't help either

Collins offense is horrible. The only thing he has is decent defense

we played a dominate 1st half last night... gave up some runs to LA in the 3rd & 4th, but did a good job closing out the game.

DWill & pierce went off :wow: :pimp:

Can never stay awake during these west coast trips. Happy to see the win tho :pimp:

J Collins 10 min 5 fouls 2 rebounds. Just what they brought him over for

nice bounce back from that portland game... we dominated from the start on both sides of the ball. we also did a much better job rebounding compared to last game.

milw tonight... hopefully that style of play can continue over.

welcome to the team, marcus thornton :smokin

the bucks kept it close for the majority of the game, we did a good job of pulling away late in the 4th though

big game from blatche too :nthat:

Looking ahead, this team would easily beat Toronto in the opening round. Potential sweep if the playoff matchups hold.

little bit of a scare in the 4th last night

over .500 though :smokin

thornton has been playing great for us since he came here :nthat:

we shot terrible from 3 last night :x our rebounding #'s were tough to look at as well. we did another good job of forcing TO's, but boston just outplayed us last night & we were never able to get on a good enough run.

Rebounding won't be good for rest of season. This team wins by forcing turnovers and knocking down shots.

3-0 against the champs

nets down, but still a close game. I think we'll be able to get the win

Thank Joe Jesus that Nowitzki has been cold tonight. Really surprised with how well Thornton is doing on the team, especially tonight.
