Cover your webcams or else....

Or you could code it yourself. :nerd: :nerd: He could've done a better job at covering up his tracks though or extorting better.
Not as easy as creating it on coding languages native to Windows like VB.Net, C#/+/++. Macs dynamics are much more complicated, plus the time and dedication to learning something as complex as network infrastructure in the program would probably take so long. He messed up when he told them to Skype with him, or even contacted them. But hey, he's a hacker, not a spy. :rolleyes

Come to think of it... I know a girl that had screen caps of her boyfriend FaceTiming another girl. It's as if she had the conversation actually displaying on her phone unknown to the two people that were talking. She also had pictures from dude's actual photo library that she could have only gotten if he sent them to her.

Anyone know anything about what could have been going on?

Probably a remote admin tool/spyware type of program that's intended use is for parents monitoring their kids, etc. You'd be surprised what you can access with these types of programs...

Is this something I should have been doing all along? Some neckbeard has been spying on me all this time? :x

Is there any way to find out if you've been the victim of people remotely hacking your computer/cellphone's camera?

Basically you just look out for any strange things going on with your computer, for example an obvious sign is your camera light (if provided one) turns on randomly. You'd be surprised how many people would just turn it off and not worry about it after I did it 3-4 times. Look for your mouse moving erratically, or you see it actually moving to the X button on your browser. If you get redirected to a website, most likely to meats_ or P_hub, that's a sign for trouble. The problem with these hackings is that the virus is crypted, they use a program called a crypter to change the line of code within the virus to help bypass the Antivirus, so scanning your computer isn't enough. Usually if the hacker that's hacked you hacks multiple people on a daily basis, then his crypt code will be available to antivirus pretty quickly, whereas someone that's only targeted you and only you it could take a while. I advise for you guys to just look for any strange behavior. I can't really determine any symptoms on cellular devices though.

EASY.,

Macs are very insecure. User account passwords means notrhing., Its so easy top reset and if the person call we will walk them through reseting the password.

All you have to do is hold down cmd + R at startup and select reset password lol

Now what she did was probably secertly started quicktime recording which records the screen and save snapshots as well..I did that at work because somebody was screwing with my mac, found who it was and got him fired him

I think he was talking about iPhones specifically, not Macs.

So normally when this stuff happens, the webcam light still turns on when the cam is activated right?

Depends on how sophiscated the hacker is.

Turning off a light, or disabling it completely, is very easy.
