If Peyton and Gabbert traded teams, how different would the result of their matchup be?

Peyton has cemented himself (once again), as the best quarterback in the NFL....and plays for a top NFL team.  Blaine Gabbert is arguably the worst QB in the NFL (getting harder to argue against this)....and plays for the worst team in the NFL.

There is no question the Broncos as a whole are an elite team.  They have very good players top to bottom.  However, a lot of what makes the Broncos so great is Peyton Manning.  And on the flipside, there is no question the Jaguars are a terrible team as a whole.  However, a lot of what makes the Jags so terrible is inept QB play from Gabbert.

So my question is......if the two of them traded teams, how different would the result of the game be?

It was a joke.

And good thing the playoffs started in 2006.

Yeah some people had early playoff failures... some people videotaped defensive practices. it happens.

i used 06 because rodgers and brees didnt have any worthy playoff experience before that. plus theres a tiny bit of spygate involved in toms first few playoff runs.

Serious question.

If Peyton doesn't win it this year and gets bounced early.

Can we all agree he's the biggest choker of all time?

Sadly yes... if its in the correct context. (some unforeseen thing like last years playoff loss)

A guy with a Super Bowl ring is 'the biggest choker of all time.' Not Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, or countless others... a Super Bowl MVP...

Never change, NT. Never change.

Welp.....I thought this would be a fun thread and an interesting discussion.  Guess not.

You honestly think Blaine Gabbert could lead this team to 8-10 wins? This isn't the same Denver defense that Tebow had to carry him... no Elvis, no Von, no Champ...

4 wins tops.

They'll all be back though sans elvis... none are out for season.

Gabbert with loaded talent on offense and a nice line would be a completely different player. Without solid blocking i agree with your 4 win prediction though

So hopefully he doesn't cost them the game with a pick.
Let me rephrase.

On of the biggest choke jobs of all times.

One Super Bowl ring doesn't mean much.

Dilfer , Brad Johnson, Flacco all have rings.

And Rex Grossman and Jake Delhomme all made it to one.
Forgot about Kelly

With numbers as great as Mannings all you need is one ring.

I can do the same and say Bradshaw has multiple rings and he was garbage...Elway was way below average in the playoffs before his final two years....Ben is a monster in the playoffs record wise, is he one of the goats? Brady ended his season with a pick last year as well... hopefully it doesn't happen this year. otherwise we can question his legacy just like manning correct?

since 06':

Tom Brady 7-6 in postseason

Manning: 6-5 in postseason

Brees: 5-3

Rodgers: 6-3 in that same span

Peytons playoff failures are incredibly overblown.

You do know 4 of those wins came in 06 right? Since 07 mark Sanchez has more playoff wins then Peyton and he played in less seasons during that time frame. Obviously Peyton is light years better then him but since 07 Peyton is 2-5 in the playoffs with 3 of those loses home losses, a road loss to a 8-8 team and a loss on a neutral field in the Super Bowl

That said Peyton could take this jags team to 10-11 wins. Probably go 5-1 in the division. Split with Indy and sweep the Texans and titans. Beat the rams and cardinals and ride a last place schedule to 3-4 more wins.

Regular season Peyton is an absolute thrill to watch. He's not a good cold weather qb and its warmer in Jacksonville in January so if they won the south he might win a playoff game as well with that jags team.

No way.  Peyton would struggle to go .500 with these Jags.  They're that bad.

Because tons of factors can go into any situation as why a team can lose a playoff game, but yea lets keep blaming those quarterbacks. Buffalo didn't lose because that kicker missed that kick, they lost because Jim Kelly couldn't get it done.

Like Chester said, you guys never change.

So what if they came in one season? he won the superbowl that year....
