If Peyton and Gabbert traded teams, how different would the result of their matchup be?

Go sit in a corner somewhere. You think I never seen his ****** games? There's TONS of those grabs by these players, and soon Welker will join the club.

It's not a knock on Peyton, its me askin 651 who mentioned these already gifted receivers being better from Peyton, which ignores their own craft.

Stop getting wet every time Peyton's name comes up. Take the cape off and pipe down. This like the third thread in a month you in blockin for him, take a break.

Man its corny how some users on here feel Peyton should be excuses from any type of criticism.

Kobe and Lebron, 2 all time greats who've led their teams to multiple titles get picked apart on here. Some criticism warranted, some just foolishness from Stans trying to discredit one but some of the criticism is warranted.

Why is Peyton immune from warranted criticism? This just 'isn't on here. Most Peyton fans I know get super defensive when you point out factual info.

I actually like Peyton. Great qb, seems like a standup guy, some if his fans are very annoying though . Not his fault that he has a solid amount of Stans and fanboys who blindly defend everything about him even when the facts are in front of their face.

You are calling out people for saying dumb "stuff" yet you have zero idea on why Terry's stats are what they are nor understand his importance to the Steelers and those championship teams

I love irony

I'm also very curious who was better in that era besides Roger. There must be a lot since Terry wasn't close to the best

Name any of the top 15-20 qb's in nfl history, do those steeler teams still win those rings? yup. Other qb's won rings with great teams, Terry was good but incredibly overrated. In my eyes Griese, Tarkenton, Fouts, and Staubach all could've won with that team fairly easily. thats just in his era.

All speculation if those QBs would've won. I question it because they relied on the deep ball and I don't know if any of those mentioned can throw one better than Terry (maybe Dan). Fact is, Terry was probably the 2nd best big game QB besides Joe. Fair is they won 4 with Terry. There was a reason when Pitt tried to use other QBs it didn't work. Dude played awesome when it really mattered. His numbers were skewed due to his early years and the era. Nobody puts him as a top 15 all time, so how is he overrated? And don't act like you even said he was good originally. I think that was why all the fuss to begin with.

We can argue all day but only 2 qb's have won 4 Super Bowls. One is generally considered the greatest ever. The other, Bradshaw is held in extreme high regard. He went 2-0 in the big game against his closest competition during that time staubach. He had a great team yes, but a average subpar qb can hold back a great team. Dude swears Bradshaw was a glorified Trent dilfer or something.

Agree to disagree i guess. My feelings towards terry is the regard he is held in and me feeling that he isn't on the level of players held in the same regard.

 and he was garbage as compared to other greats, but hey thats me.

I can't respect his opinions because his posts are filled with biased views.

He'll go out of his way to discredit other qb's accomplishments while going out of his way to exaggerate Peyton's accomplishments.

At the same time he'll jump on another dudes struggles while minimizing the role of Peyton in his teams struggles. Peyton is immune from criticism to him and its funny.

Stats and factual info can be thrown his way and its ignored and disregarded. You can be a fan of player and even be a die hard fan of then and still acknowledge their faults no shame in that. No one is perfect. Not even Peyton manning.

Fam, grow up. i have never once said peyton is without blame. The fact that you take the best qb of this generation and use words like "choke artist" when he HAS A DAMN SUPERBOWL. makes no sense.

People mention spygate as an afterthought as if it was nothing.
people dont mention brees greatly benefiting from the rules changes and Payton.
Rodgers gets blasted not nearly as much as Manning when buddy cant win a game to save his life if he is down in the fourth.

Manning is held to a different standard when he shouldnt be.

When people consider you the best of all time (I don't but some do) the expectations of you are justifiably high. Joe flacco won a Super Bowl. He's nowhere near Peyton's calliber. He can go his entire career and put up average stats and never win another playoff game. His career is considered a success by his standards.

Peyton has put up amazing numbers , year in year out and is the model of regular season consistency. Ill call him a choker because his teams have wet the bed in the playoffs numerous times and him being the qb gets a decent sized portion of the blame. Qb's get all the credit when they win (perhaps more then they should) but it evens out when they lose. Compare regular season Peyton to playoff Peyton. No matter how you cut it that has been the one blotch on an amazing career. Its a noticeable blotch though.

A guy like Marino gets a pass because most his teams were trash and he didn't get quality talent around him until he was past his prime and jimmy Johnson was the coach and he drafted quality players. Peyton on the other hand has had loaded teams since about 2003 with a few exceptions in there.

Do I expect him to win titles every year? No that's unrealistic but they should've won the 05 season they started 13-0, should've won in 08 when Brady missed the season, arguably should've won the Super Bowl against the saints, and should've won last season. Throw in some dissappinting home losses where he contributed and the critique of his playoff resume is warranted.

You bring up spygate which happened week 1 of the NFL season in 07. Since then Brady has won 5 playoff games, more then half of Peyton's career total while Peyton has won 2.

You bring up rules getting changed. Guess who cried about their receivers being played to physical in the afc title game? That would be the 03 colts. Guess what team which should've benifited from those rules changes lost 20-3 in the divisional round to the same team after having rules changed to that should've benifited them? That would be the 04 colts.

should everyones team who doesn't win the title be considered a choker then?.... Brady threw a pick to end his season last year but not one word is said about it. New orleons was 7-9 without payton and not a word is said about brees. you used the words correctly, HIS TEAMS have wet the bed. has he had playoff failures? of course, who hasnt? How loaded were they? Could maybe a qb that elite lead his players and make them better? no not in your world i guess. peyton has had players but not a single running back worth a crap since edge and he has made many a bum a household name. Marino should never get a pass.... ever.

Brady has his reputation BECAUSE of spygate. Mangini stated they taped games as early as 2000. 7 years of taping teams defensive practice but yeah but lets sweep that under the rug. Also since then he has a beatdown in Baltimore in which he was absolutely trash. Coincedentially he has only three games since spygate with a better than 100 playoff rating since then...Manning has 2 in that same span in less games. Manning also has never had qb rating under 87 in that same time span... but yeah Manning is trash in the playoffs.

Manning wanting the rules to change has no bearing on Brees benefiting but sure lets toss that little snippet because you lacked an educational rebuttal. They lost 20-3 because new england was a better team no ands, if and buts. Tom brady threw for a whole 144 yards that game... he HAD to have been the reason why they won right?

You just gave every qb you spoke of a pass except for Manning, proving my point. Take your agenda elsewhere.

It's gonna be hilarious this year if the great Manning with this loaded team, has a subpar playoffs and doesn't win a chip.

Will it be the same as going 18-0 and losing the Super Bowl?

Peyton is screwed no matter what happens. Loses the Super Bowl, he's a choker. Wins a Super Bowl, his team is loaded.

Never change, NT.

Broncos have the #1 offense and 25th ranked defense but yes, I'm sure it will be all Peyton's fault if they don't win it this year.

nope!

in all seriousness, i don't think if he wins, it'll be labeled as, "oh it's cause his team is loaded". that'll be treated as legit for him. but if he loses, **** about to hit the fan

Wanna put a bet on that? I can name four people who will definitely use this excuse if it happens. :nerd:

i'm not talking about on here..because i will certainly be one of those 4

not really though. i'll give him props.

but i'm talking about as far as his legacy and all that is concerned
