Both the Pacers & Heat look equally as bad but the Pacers are the only ones that are gonna get knocked off early in the playoffs?? Puh-Leeze!

It will be the Pacers & Heat in the ECF once again and from there it'll be a battle. The Pacers are going thru a slump at the time you want to go thru it. I'd rather it happen immediately after the all star break as opposed to in the actual playoffs themselves.

I don't know...unlike the Heat who've been through 3 years of wars to win (and lose) titles, the Pacers are relatively young and new to this. You gotta have cohesiveness on AND off the court. Y'all ain't gotta like each other but you have to be able to play together. As much as Shaq and Kobe hated each other or Barkley and KJ didn't get along...when the lights came on them boys played together and won titles or got dang close. These dudes playing like that dislike is carrying over onto the court.

As it stands now, either the heat or the Pacers are gonna get Chicago or Brooklyn in the 2nd round. I wouldn't be shocked if the Pacers fell to any of those two.

The Heat have shown struggles at this time and then turned it on come playoff time. The Heat are also capable on both ends of the court. Can you say either one about the Pacers?

The Heat have Lebron James and are back to back champs.

I can easily say that Lebron has looked absolutely GASSED this season putting that whack Heat team on his back and going to the Finals 4 times in a row is almost a guarantee he doesn't make it.
So it wouldn't be as equally as surprising if they aren't gassed before they even get there and get bounced out as well.

Listen I think when the time comes the Pacers & Heat will rise to the occasion to see each other one last time. Because after this season it's over for that rivalry

I can't see a team outside of Miami beating Indy, so I think they're fine. But Roy's macho man act has gotten real tiresome.

Yea I think Roy AND PG are feelin themselves a tad too much. Coach Vogel needs to pull the reins in on everybody real quick before this thing gets outta hand. Or have Larry Bird go have a talk with those boys. They have achieved a whole bunch of nothing to be getting this outta pocket

People still underrate Roy's defensive impact, but he shouldn't really be complaining about the offensive side. It wasn't like he's been prime Shaq and then suddenly they're not getting him his touches and they're struggling because of that. It's likely more of a mental thing, if he feels like he's being ignored and not getting respected by his teammates, then it'll affect the rest of his game and the team's overall attitude.. but still... deal with it. I imagine it's hard to try to be a dominant voice in the locker room when you can't back it up offensively.. especially as a big man who needs his perimeter guys to get him the ball.

The Pacers should still be good til the ECF.. and despite the Heat's struggles.. I still trust them to turn it on in the playoffs. Personally, I think the Pacers were praised too quickly as title contenders, but they backed it up with elite defense and Paul George's emergence. Despite their struggles as of late, they're still a great team and have a chance if the defensive keeps up and George can shake off the curse and hex that's been put on him.

The league sent a memo to refs I the rule of vertically

The Restricted Area and Verticality:
On a block-charge type play, a secondary defensive player cannot be in a legal guarding position, even if stationary, inside the "Restricted Area" if the offensive player receives the ball outside the lower defensive box -- unless he jumps vertically in an attempt to defend the shot. Therefore, even if positioned inside the Restricted Area, a secondary defender does not commit a blocking foul if contact is made while he is jumping vertically in an attempt to defend. The defender must, however, establish legal guarding position prior to the start of the offensive player's upward motion.
To be considered vertical, a defender must:
1. Be in the air to defend the shot when contact occurs. If the player is on the ground inside the restricted area, with his arms “vertical” when contact occurs, he will be assessed a blocking foul.
2. Maintain a vertical trajectory by jumping straight up. If the player jumps toward or to the side of an oncoming player, he will be assessed a blocking foul. A player may, however, angle his jump backwards slightly in such a way as to absorb the impact of the oncoming player, and of course, he may land behind where he leapt from because of the force of the contact.
3. Maintain vertical alignment, with his body (arms, hands, torso, legs and feet) in a nearly straight line that is perpendicular to the floor. If a player leans his arms forward or “jack-knifes” his legs toward the oncoming offensive player, he will be assessed a blocking foul.
4. A player may not turn sideways (as discussed above). If he does, he will be assessed a blocking foul.

All I know about verticality is that Roy Hibbert is either the most disciplined defender in the history of the NBA... or he gets away with a lot more fouls under the guise of "verticality" than other big men do.
