KD doesnt need to go God mode. Their winning will rely on how OKC counter's Memphis's defensive scheme. If they play a bunch of iso ball again, they'll be toast. unless Reggie gets matched up on Beno or something and exploits a matchup. Russ and KD in iso is gonna be murder

all away teams are favored to win.
a lot of money being placed on atlanta to finish this up

Funny how everyone just wants to dismiss the fact that KD is having to go against Tony Allen, one of the NBA's best wing defenders.  And the Grizzlies are much better than your average 7 seed

But nobody is dismissing either of these things, both have been mentioned constantly, especially Tony Allen on hawk mode.

I think people are slandering him so much because he is the MVP this year, he is either the best or the second best (depending on who you ask) player in the league, this was suppose to be his year. Not to mention, he is supposedly unguardable in one-on-one situations

Well, that's because a lot of people felt like the Grizz were the Hawks of the West and were not that good. They also felt that OKC was that much better despite the facts stating how evenly matched these two teams are over the last 3-4 seasons.

So, that's why people are dismissing that fact.

But, people are mentioning both points  .

People are giving Tony his just credit.. people realize he's a major factor in Durant's struggles.

DSK mentioned it earlier, but they're also letting Allen play pretty physical with Durant and it would be a really different series if they called things tighter on his defense. OKC wins tonight and the next game if they get the foul calls, Durant gets to the line, and Allen hits the bench.

im gonna credit Tony Allen's defense and discredit it in the same post. Yes his defense is a problem. But it should not be this much of a problem. PHYSICAL DEFENSE is on his resume. He's also has a 6'9" wingspan. It irks me when OKC just tries to post up KD with him on the block. Memphis is the last team they should be doing this with. They play good team defense and are physical.

If they are THAT bent on iso, they need to be letting KD get into the open space off the pick n roll with ibaka....ie first half of the entire season. Yet they keep trying mid, high post and turning the ball over.

Or they go away from iso and find more motion to get KD open. I think the only people disregarding Tony Allen's defense are the OKC Thunder tbh. They aren't countering their scheme at all.

Same for Wes Matthews vs Harden. They really are letting a lot go on the perimeter, but the inside officiating has been weird.

Even with tony Allen on him he still should be able to get his teammates involved and get then open shots. Your gonna tell me KD who's shot was so effortless this year earlier and the guy some of y'all were claiming he was the best in the world can't get going or at least do enough to get out the first round? It doesn't matter who its against and let's not forget this Grizzles team got swept by the spurs last year so there not that good as your making then out to be just a bad match up for okc.

I wouldn't be surprised to see all 3 teams go fishing tonight.  But i would love to see some game 7s.  In the 2 West series at least

KD is basically at the same juncture that Lebron was in the 2010 playoffs vs the Celtics, MVP of the league in his 7th year on the brink of elimination on the road. Unfortunately KD is still under contract so he can't bolt after his 7th season like LeBron did. And this is where the slander cannons for LBJ were almost at their maximum, expect KD to get ethered if they don't find a way to pull this out tonight.

Maybe Memphis is just the better team (like the Celtics were), I didn't think so coming into this series (I thought KD's greatness could overcome like I thought LBJ would in 2010), but they definitely seem more well rounded. Just crazy to think how mirrored KD's and LBJ's careers are to this point.

you all really complaining about the amount of criticism KD is getting? It's so light, especially compared to what LeBron or even his teammate point guard gets. He's about to win MVP and be eliminated in the first round. It should get worst, and if so it's warranted. But it won't, it'll mostly go to WB

And Mr Unreliable was the #1 trending topic an hour ago, page click throughs, so mission accomplished.

If you read the article itself, it's not incindeary or untrue at all. It's mostly focused around his FT shooting (50% last game) and his inconsistent effort

Its gonna be worse. At least lebron performed Well in that series in 2010. KDS checking out like lebron did in 2011. Staying away from the ball not even trying to get open.

 @ comparing Bron in 2010 to KD now.

Bron woulda stayed in Cleveland if he was playing with two guys as good/young as Russ/Ibaka.

They both had pretty bad coaches though.
