if he could be a deadly shooter, at 40+ pct, he would stay on the court. but he just isnt that right now. they dont need him to be a playmaker, so his only focus should be defense and hitting open shots

okc doesnt have time to develop. he's not that good right now.

At the end of the day, Holiday and Evans are still really good players, and currently 23 and 24, respectively.

And Anderson, too, for that matter (assuming he isn't dead). 25.

"Poop."

Gordon and Rivers, however, are irrelevant.

I think I'm harsh on reke because I expected more.

For the money they spent on those 3, playing pretty similar positions, I feel it wasn't a good way to allocate resources

I expected more from him too, I thought he would be what James Harden is, just not as good of a shooter.

at worst he would be doing what lance does.

Both of those dudes are not all stars in the West and have, in all likelihood, hit their ceilings, or are close to them.

there are fringe all stars to be had in every FA class, no need to ruin your chance at a high pick in this particular draft in order to blow a combined 22 mil annually on those two

JJoe :smokin

I feel like he's the career underachiever.
I don't remember Joe in college, I don't remember him playing for the Celtics, and I never see him play until his last year in PHX so I feel like he came out of nowhere.

I still think gordon and tyreke could be deadly in the right system. Smh 2 of my top 5 players. Tyreke can be a lance type dude, he should be getting 15 6 6 at worse and eg probably wouldve been solid in phx

Jrue holiday was an All-star last year and was what 21 or 22? yet he's somehow hit his ceiling?

It's top 5 protected.... so please inform me on what other PG's not going in the top 5 are somehow a better prospect then Jrue Holiday?
OMG they couldve had Noel.... an rail thin injury prone big man, who best asset is blocking shots.... when you have A Davis already there. do you think that's a good compliment?

Outside of signing Gordon to that horrible deal the Pelicans have done everything right so far. not to mention either way by the time Davis assumed extension is up they will still have money cleared off the books.

Joe was a solid player, but you were never going to be a contender with him as your max contract, number 1 guy. It's not his fault he got paid like he did, so I never blamed him for being "overpaid".

After his current contract expires, he'll have earned almost 200 million dollars... and then he'll probably get another small one after that

So good for him.

1. He was an all star only because Rose and Wall were hurt. He's not even close to being an all star in the West.

2. I said at OR CLOSE to his ceiling. What can he possibly and realistically improve upon that would elevate him to another tier? And what happened this year?

3. So having 2 shot blockers in the paint is a bad thing all of sudden? Also if they drafted Noel, since he's not playing, they'd be high lottery contenders again this year, with a chance to select one of 3 dudes who project to have a MUCH higher ceiling than Jrue friggin Holiday

Can't knock a player for taking money, I blame the gms.

I can't believe how much Erik Dampier made in his career.

Sleepy Joe :pimp:

Counting millions instead of sheep since ATL :pimp: :pimp:

He going with Rashard Lewis & Gil Arenas as 1st ballot Get That Check Hall Of Famers

The thing with Jrue's All-Star selection was he was taking up A LOT of possessions to get his numbers. It sounds trivial because so do other All-Stars, but in his case it was really apparent. So he could be argued as one of those "Empty stats" guys.

Joe got that fat contract twice, though..

It wasn't a bad deal the first time... but the second?

Joe pretty damn clutch himself though, he's hit the most GW's in the L past couple years

& we know about Hibachi's antics in DC

Guess it's something about those 9 figure checks that makes you feel like you can hit that last shot

Lamb's biggest problem is he can't get past his defender off the dribble. It's why his fg% is so up and down. He started the season off hot though when him and RJ were tearing through teams and he was looking like 50/40/90 candidate. But he has fallen way back down to Earth and Brooks insistence on 2pg lineups also forces him to play lots of 3 where teams have been just abusing him in the post on D. Doesn't help he has a coach who prefers vets and Caron comes right in and is gifted 20+ minutes despite being pretty terrible in every measurable stat since he has been here from basic +/- to RAPM to eye test. Lamb will just have to play his way out of it, if he has it in him which I am not sure he does. He basically got jumped in the rotation for a small 4 ni PJ3 and then a rookie in Roberson took that starting spot because he at least plays hard, defends, and rebounds. Some people think he has a Kerry Kittles type upside.
