This Paul George backlash means that

1. people dont pay attnetion to defense.
2. people really thought pau george was going to shoot 58% from mid range all season

It's for sure not number 1. Everyone in this thread acknowledges his ability on that side of the ball.

People appreciate his defense, they just dont like others throwing him into top 5 category when he hasnt proven **** yet.

I get what you are saying but I really don't

They both can be great facilitators?

you probably just should save your breath on here fam. nobody is trying to hear the KD praise in comparision to Lebron. I tried to come in here and get people to REALLY watch KD facilitate and see this was no hot streak or fluke but actual developed ability....and just got a bunch of folks squirming out of debates. I just saw someone say KD facilitated well for a handful of games  when he just did it for an entire half a season.

based off this year alone, It's crazy to me how all the witnessing is blocking people from seeing what KD is really doing. All this scoring **** is second nature. Dude been leading the league in scoring for a while now. He's added to his game major in almost EVERY facet. But again, just save your breath and let the cards fall.

They don't value defense very highly though.

You think so? I honestly think that's completely blown out of proportion. We hear about how great of a defender PG is every time he's brought up. In my estimation, maybe we are valuing his defense too much, relative to his offense ability. Ultimately, it comes down to what one values more, offense or defense and to me that's a preference, it's what you believe is more valuable.

not following where this PG convo is going, but PG is an elite defender. anything else is uncivilized. His offense is still developing and he needs to find a way to make what he does consistent.

spurs havent lost since kawhi got back. spurs should have fresh legs come playoff time. amazing how they still "rest" their guys and have a top seed
really thought they were gonna be 4/5 this year and focus on health and playoffs

Always say the most surprising development to KD"s game is his ball handling. When he first came into the L I thought he was going to be an inefficient jumpshooter who couldn't mix it up and go to the rack because he would constantly get pushed back, and he couldn't dribble that well.

Nice to see that he's really grown in both areas, especially with the ball handling. He's elite with the handle, which is crazy to me because a lot of people once they get to the NBA, if there's one area that you CAN'T develop it would be ball handling. He's special.

There's literally not a single person in this thread who says he isn't an elite defender man

For me, what PG doesn't do well on the offensive end are things that generally don't get that much better. It'll be interesting if he can become an elite offensive player off the bounce, and consistently get easier points. (Points in the paint, free throws, etc.) His inefficiency isn't the issue. I mean it is, but Kobe, AI, there's a plethora of elite players who weren't the most efficient players. But they always found a way to get their points and make plays for themselves and others. Can PG make that jump and become that type of a guy? That's the question.

That's why all the OKC vs Clippers WCF talk doesn't make sense to me. People want to point to the Spurs regular season record vs good teams. Yeah ok, hold on to that come playoff time. Won't mean a thing. MIA vs SA rematch.

Not if Vogul is coaching him and he plays in that Indiana offense.

the guy falls in love with the 3 ball. larry bird has criticized him for taking too many 3s when he has the capabilities of taking it to the rim and getting fouled. look at how james harden mixes up his gm and gets to the line.

agreed. but like Bron said in that post-game interview after their game in Miami...."maybe [y'all] didn't know, but I knew he had the handling ability all this time"

i went to Texas, and he had the ability. It's def improved, but not as drastic as it looks just watchin his nba progression of coming off screens, catch n shoot. DJ augustin was a very ball dominant guard when he played with KD at Texas. And when KD was hooping in the lockout year, his handles were not far off then from what they are now. Go look for some of the lockout year tape, he was crossing up Bron in particular, ha. Now he's chopping guys up at an elite rate. We just haven't seen it because Russ is also very ball dominant, like Augustin was in college. Been saying it, but I think KD needs to be a facilitator.

That along with some Quality wins too. Injuries have been frustrating this season to say the least. Glad to see a full roster out there.

Let it go, bro. Let it go.

Nah man you don't do **** like that in a professional game. Especially not against a championship contender.

That **** was foul and unnecessary

what happened? :nerd:

he's salty
