I don't understand the Rip City jerseys. Shouldn't they say Rose city?
We've been calling ourselves Rip City for a long time. Rose City has been adopted by our Timbers MLS Team and have never been associated much with the Blazers.

[h2]Rip City[/h2]
The nickname Rip City  is usually used in the context of the city's NBA  team, the Portland Trail Blazers.[sup][17][/sup]  The term was coined by the team's play-by-play announcer Bill Schonelyduring a game against the Los Angeles Lakers  on February 18, 1971, the Blazers' first season.[sup][18][/sup]  In the days prior to the three-point field goal, Blazers guard  Jim Barnett  took an ill-advised long distance shot that nonetheless went in, giving the new team hope for a victory against the powerful Lakers. Excited, Schonely exclaimed "Rip City! All right!" Schonely admits that he has no idea how he came up with the expression, but it became synonymous with the team and the city of Portland.

I'm pretty sure a lot of ppl have Portland winning today. No one's overlooking them.

idk what you're reading, i think most people expect Portland to win this series
Well they're up 2-0 and playing at home for 2 games now, course it's time to withdraw opinions and side with the obvious victor lmao
I don't have them winning tonight personally, but ppl seem to be looking at Portland.

i actually picked Portland to be the only 5-8 seed to win round 1 in the west.

looks like there could be a couple upsets now

Real Oregonians know the Rip City story from watchin games on the local station lmao for some reason they got a commercial that comes on a couple times every game explaining it
