Consecutive 30 pt games,

first time this season.

Julius F. Wrek

Can anybody explain to me the hate for Scott Brooks? Is it how he runs his offense? Or you guys hate that he plays his vets?
Serious question

Brooks is nice. I never hear any local hate from anyone but the ones who blame the coach for any loss. The homers talk like that not the Fans.

Good *** game. Staples was live. Too many missed Free Throws and too much Westbrook. What a savage :pimp:

He barely runs any offense and he plays Kendrick Perkins way more than he should as evidenced by tonight's game.

Let Adams play so he can develop faster and be their future anchor on defense. It hurts to watch Perkins play seriously. Adams rebounds at a higher rate, can actually run the floor and protects the rim better and he's only 20.

I ain't mad at him playing Fisher who's been balling and I like some of his small ball lineups but still.

He's not a bad coach, he's just mediocre with the most talented roster in the league. They added Butler and he's shooting 44% from 3 in the second unit on top of Reggie Jackson being a capable scorer and Collison being effecient.

With players as dynamic as Russ and KD, you would think he could make a system to exploit their mismatches every night but usually it's just a lot of iso ball.

I think there's more coaches out there who bring out the best in those two just because they're more creative.

Ehh, while scott brooks does make some very questionable decisions, overall I actually think he does a solid job.

Then again, i'm someone who doesn't believe there is much coaching to be done in the NBA. Shot clock too short, either playing off of a small / big screen roll, or running some misdirections hoping it works, which it doesn't, which leads to pick and roll basketball anyway. That's literally most of the NBA for the most part. This is why the NBA is suited for guys who are great, efficient one on one players and why the best players will almost always win. Shot clock is only 24 seconds and before you know it, it's time to manufacture a shot, so whoever has that guy that can do that in a rather efficient, relatively effortless fashion, will always do well.

Few coaching exceptions, but for the most part that's what the NBA is so I can't really call out Scott Brooks and his inept ways.

You're wrong about that but it depends on the team and the personnel.

My thing is, not only is Scott Brooks a bad X's and O's coach, but his rotations are horrible as well (which is what most people think matters). Brooks does not trust younger guys on the roster to go out there and be productive for him and if he would have at least put them in for blowouts they probably would be a lot more ready than they really are. He barely seems to play Lamb, PJ3 or Roberson since Caron got there and they are rotting on the bench even though they could eventually become critical contributors in the playoffs.

Defensively Brooks is getting lucky too. OKC's defense also isn't a result of his coaching and you can tell because they play off of instinct instead of "by the rules". They don't steer ballhandlers baseline into help, have any PnR defensive philosophy, etc.

Everyone says their coach is the worst. Rockets fans say it about "McFail", Thunder fans say it about Brooks, Lakers fans say it about D'Antoni, Clippers fans said it lst year about VDN, Knicks fans say it about Woodson, Cavs fans say it about MikeBrown, Wizards fans say it about Whittman... at some point the rest of us feel like you're just ******** and moaning.
