I'll just end my protest rant with this, the clippers have a chance to be in the history books here. They can either play basketball and possibly (most likely) lose, OR take a real stand

Agree 100%. Although someone mentioned black tape over the Clippers logo on the jeresys, and I would be fine with that too

Kinda sad that people would rather have the players do nothing because it's the "playoffs" as if that actually means something. Players and fans alike brainwashed to think the pursuit of a golden ball is really all that worthwhile in the grand scheme

New slaves

Ah well, back to your regularly scheduled programming

QFT.

I keep hearing people say that this is a owners issue, not a players. Disagreed initially but this is really about the owners.

-prepare for rustling of the jimmies

The owners view this as nothing but modern day slavery. A bunch of high profile racist Jews who stole the identity of a people for the advancement of their financial pursuits.
People are so brainwashed that they are gonna continue slaving on because it's for "themselves" and the people.

Take a look at someone like Marc Cuban whose usually crazy opinionated. On the topic he politely declined to engage in conversation and opted to focus on his own plantation the mavericks and what affected them.

He's Jewish by the way, but you probably couldn't notice cause the name. Many NBA owners, Sterling most notably change their names to try and downplay the connection.

End of rant

Wow.

Such a typical NT response.

You should chill on the anti-semitism.  There are plenty of non-Jewish owners in the NBA, and Jewish-Americans have a long history of supporting the fight for Black Civil Rights in this country.

Plus, the other owners have their own self-interest to think about. I doubt any of them are squeaky clean, so they have to be careful about setting a precedent under which someone can lose a team based on a leaked audio recording. Information gets out way to easily these days. That's why I think a lot of them will be measured in their comments about the Sterling situation.

Yeah or that. They should just sit courtside on the bench postpone the gm in LA. When you really protest its gonna make HEADLINES the NBA will be forced to do something IMMEDIATELY...**** all that waiting ****

Its a race issue yet you think its okay to stereotype jews

I'm not stereotyping Jews, I'm discussing a small group of people who stole another people's history and used it as a shield to advance their cause.

I'm not anti-Semitic. That would mean I'm anti black. An oxymoron in itself.

I'm not gonna downplay the struggles that the perceived Jews and blacks share with one another. Because of this struggle it's easy to support one another, however most of the glamorized support probably has an agenda. Proving my point, look how sterling was up for an NAACP award despite his history.

I know where you are going with this, and agree to an extent, however, it wasnt just "Jews". Clean that up.

Please at the end of the day they are getting paid millions to play. It wouldnt be fair to their fan base if they let this get to them. I feel sorry for sterling you can tell hes a miserable old man with nothing but money and nothing else

wtf

Boycotting the games would be a disservice to the players and I feel like it wouldn't do anything to Sterling he probably just laying low at home counting his money

Also all these slavery comparisons for millionaire basketball players do a disservice to actual slaves from the past and those in bondage around the world today

I think the Clips should wear all black jerseys with their number on the back and the word "united" on the front. Much better than inside out warm ups IMO ..

And now I'm conflicted. On one hand when threads turn into full blown race argument threads I leave them, but the NBA thread is my home.

We definitely need Series threads now.

The historical support of Jews marching with black people, acting as civil rights attorneys/advocates and journeying to the South to make change during Jim Crow didn't have a "glamorized agenda".

Sterling is a scumbag but that has nothing to do with other people who share his religion.

The fact that the clippers are essentially going "business as usual" is what makes it seem like they don't care.

Again you can't take a stand against McDonald's and still hand out burgers for them

game 3: 48 seconds left. up by 3. instead of killing the clock, he rushes up court to take a contested layup. next possession down, batum hits a 3.

game 4: 24 seconds left, up 2. instead of killing the clock, he rushes up court to get ripped by mo williams, who ends up hitting a 3 on the same possession.

for as good as jeremy lin can be at times, this is how bad he can be.

How good? JLin is average at best. He can clearly be pointed to as a major reason they lost Game 4 and he SHOULD have cost them Game 3...lest we forget the end of Game 2 when he committed a foul with 35 seconds on the clock down 3 then commences to have brain freeze on the last possession by holding the ball.

He went from being clutch in NY to liability at the end of games in HOU. With how closely matched these teams are those plays are the difference between 3-1 and 2-2. No way he's worth 15 mil next year. If I was Morey I'd be shopping that expiring contract the night the season ends.

Trump came correct. Shame on both Sterling and the girlfriend.

Yup! They both know the rules...No 81 year old truly thinks a 20 something hottie (I use that term loosely) is "in" to them. Sterling is a fool but he ain't stupid. No 20 something is breaking off an elderly cat if she ain't cashin' out off his riches. He's a John and she trickin' plain and simple. His dumb *** let the yambs blur his vision and got caught up...

THIS. Its like if your Boss is throwing racial slurs at you whatever color you are and has a history of doing it you gonna sit there and tolerate just because hes cutting your check FOH theres no place in society for that. The players are millionaires they can go elsewhere!

Used that word cause I figured it was the most relative for situation. Zionist may have been better although I'm not not sure that encapsulates what I'm trying to communicate exactly either and opens another can of worms. I'm open to a better way of expressing it.

At any rate, for those who think this is an issue where a black tape or removing warm ups is gonna solve the issue are completely wrong. These owners care nothing about you, winning a championship or quality of the league. Take a look at the maloof brothers and how they handled the Sacramento situation.

Not standing up for what's right, let's people of this mindset believe they can do what ever they want for the right price.

The thing is they cant. The cap alone will cause whatever plans the Clippers have of leaving and being somewhat unified to fail.

What happens to CP3 and Blake? Few contenders have the money to sign them for what they want and they sure as hell dont want to go to bottom of the barelll teams when they were "title contenders" From a monetary and basketball standpoint the best option is to stay with the Clippers.

Maybe Philly can take up a good chunk of the guys but thats about it. Thats if they can somehow get out of their contracts to begin with

Agian taking the whole social commentary issue out of it.

i completely forgot about this. how boneheaded could he be?

Working at McDonald's is not like being a contender for a NBA championship. Imagine being that close to whatever your lifelong dream is, along with your teammates/brothers. Nobody's lifelong dream is to flip burgers at McDonald's. They're the ones going through this right now, who are we to judge unless we're in their situation?
