To add to your point, they were a young team and it was their first time. If you had that mix now, the outcome would be dramatically different. To contrast what you alluded to, Magic did it at 19....

Exactly regarding the experience level.

As for Magic, he had Kareem/Wilkes/Nixon dominating till game 6 when he put on that legendary performance after Kareem went down.

Westbrook had a similar level game against MIA and they still lost.

:rolleyes the whole post up / jumpers thing again :rolleyes The Heat were better and better coached, hell they won with jumpers, 3s to be exact. Nobody on either team was doing work in the post.

miami won the points in the paint stat in games 2-5 the one game they didn't win it was game 1. The only game they lost.

Posting up =/= points in the paint. Tony Parker has lead the NBA in points in the paint, as has Tyreke Evans.

If Harden played that series the way he played San An, the Thunder win. The last 90 seconds of each game was their undoing.

This star/superstar **** is about the dumbest **** I've ever read in this thread, and that is saying something.

Question. If KD never plays on a team you feel can compete and all his parts aren't playing up to par (Harden excuse) and never wins a ring, your giving him a career pass and he will be in Kobe LeBron and MJs class because he puts up numbers?

From an individual standpoint? Hell yeah.

& I love Kobe but what KD has done this season is more impressive than what he's done in any season.

Kobe didn't start winning again until he had 2 elite big man, a do it all swingman in Odom, bench players playing career years and Phil Jackson coaching.

We know what he had the first 3.

OKC has the talent/experience now and I wouldn't be surprised if they take it this year even with their subpar coach.

I'm not saying the slander wouldn't be 100% unwarranted but the act that he has been the sole reason for playoff failures in LA and the dismissal of his carrying of NO all those years is ridiculous to me. There's always an excuse for Blake being injured like everyone else is this time of year.

As much love as I have for Steph's game, there's no way in hell he's better than CP3. But everyone is "what have you shown me lately" and infatuated with one side of the play in the NBA, so there's no point in even going back and forth about it.
people say melo is the sole reason for playoff failures every year though

same with lebron when he doesnt win

and kobe when he doesnt win
Again, I'm not saying it's completely unwarranted. But, there is a lot of selective memory going on when it comes to him.

You watch the Knicks playoffs the last two years, you'll see that while he was a big part of their wins he is also a gigantic part of there losses with his refusals to pass and inability to defend. If you're going to hold it against CP that he puts his teammates in the best position to succeed and make open shots and they continue to falter, then that's where we'll have to agree to disagree.

There is a HUGE difference between shooting your team out of games and taking your teammates ability to impact games away like Melo and Kobe have been known to do/accused of over the years than having below average and even star teammates continue to shrink in the big moment.
doesnt matter how the team scores, 2 points is 2 points. passing to open teammates for two 3pt shots is the same as melo making two 3pt shots. melo has had good and bad teams, cp3 has had good and bad teams. they both fall short year after year but melo has at least almost made the finals. but when melo loses he is "a gigantic part of there losses" while when cp3 loses its "CP puts his teammates in the best position to succeed, but his teammates are just not good enough". bottom line is they are leaders and start players, they didnt do enough to win a playoff series.

maybe melo should just start passing more so that when he gets knocked out of the first round next year people will start talking about how his teammates are not good enough.

teams with 30 ppg scorers (bron, kobe, jordan, wade) have won way over 50% of the championships in the past 25 years while teams with 10 apg passers (kidd, cp3, nash) fall short year after year. but no one ever blames guys who pass while melo, tmac, iverson, ect. they are always the ones labeled as "not a winner" while pgs that never accomplish anything just need more help

it's gotta be exhausting having someone blow by Harden almost every possession and cleaning up that mess.

How much would you pay to see a guy blow past Harden, and Dwight simply turn and raise his arm out to let the man pass like a doorman? I'd be down for a 50, just to see Dwight turn and look at James like: "I can do that too.....*Superman smile* " .

 that would be worth any price of admission to see how Harden would respond and how Parsons/Lin would react.

Serious question, when healthy, who is better than CP3? I'm curious to hear what you guys think.

I wish you could lock your own thread.

I'd shut this thing down between like 11-5 some days depending on the topic.

What.

Part of this.

Is FALSE?

Please someone tell me.

KD has NEVER had an elite big w/ an elite coach and an elite swingman. Has he? Saying he's never had those things, is that false?

Kobe didn't win again until he had those things. Again, is that a false statement?

Get your laughs in first if you must, but once you're ready to actually tear awwsome's response apart, please do so.

Curious Ska is curious what part of his reply right there... is false.

CP3 is a top 4-5 player in the game. I think most of the guys that go at him are really going at Kev being right, early.

Durant, Bron, Anthony Davis, healthy Dwight and healthy CP3 are probably the best of the best. Love, healthy Rondo, Russ, Harden, and maybe Noah would be my next 5.

Curry is knockin, D Rose would be, George, and possibly Lillard could be that 11-15 tier on the come up.
