Westbrook shot OKC out of the game last night. :smh:

I don't think he did. There were several times where he did look like he was trying to get the all to Durant, but he was being fronted. If I'm Westbrook and my only other options on the floor is Caron Butler or Derek Fisher, Kendrick Perkins and Ibaka, I'm taking that shot too  . How can people say Westbrook shot them out of the game when he and Durant both shot 28 attempts?

OKC has only won one playoff game out of 5 in Memphis. Memphis has won 4 of 9 in OKC.

Yes, I know those numbers are a bit off due to injuries.

When you take contested mids and leaning 3's instead of making an effort to get a better shot or layup then your shooting your team out of the game. I remember at one point OKC needed a 2 to tie the game and had a chance to go 2 for 1, Westbrook shot a hero 3 early in the shot clock (didnt even try to give KD the ball) and missed it so the Grizz could go up 4.

Even when KD is being fronted you still should make more of an effort to get him the ball, don't just look his way for 2 secs then say **** it.

Well deserved.

60 wins with a leading scorer of 17 ppg, nobody playing over 30 mpg, and likely not a single all NBA 1st teamer (and possibly not even a 2nd teamer) is COY worthy.

That's what I call COACHING. These other guys in the NBA are doing something else.

Not sure if posted but pretty funny

Ball watching like no other. But hey, if you score more points than youre defender?

That's true, but I hate that Westbrook is being the scapegoat. There were other players who had the opportunity to step up throughout the entire game. Reggie Jackson only had 2 points, Caron Butler was like 1-4. Outside of himself, KD and Jackson, no one else can really create a shot. What Westbrook was probably trying to do was continue to pick up the pace of the game. The longer it took for them to score on a possession, the more the game favored Memphis. Why you think every time they had a opportunity to run, they sprinted down the court like Usain Bolt? . I think their halfcourt possessions is more on Scott Brooks than Westbrook.

KD still sucks at "posting up," in the mid post, particularly with Tony Allen on him. If he can't get a better seal on his defender and target hand, it's a turnover waiting to happen or at the least deflected. Even when he does get it, you're talking about him recieving the ball around the 3pt line, back to the basket with a defender drapped over him and like 5 seconds remaining. Brooks in his post game talked about finding more ways to get their hands off KD (more screen action). They are still very predictable offensively. Like Barkely said, ball is just a ticking time bomb at that point for whoever is at the top trying to find him, same with when they blow up the baseline screen action (again predictable and the same stuff they've been running for years) by leaving Perkins open on the slip and having the big hedge on KD coming off.

I know coaches shorten their rotation in the plostseason, but I am a bit upset Brooks couldn't find 1 minute for Lamb, PJ3, Robers. I mean insert him, in 3 possessions run 2 plays for him, if he misses both fine back to the bench, especially in the home games. Now if or when we get foul trouble in Memphis, you're going to have to go to 1 of them out of desparation and it's just going to be ugly. They'll **** their pants.

DNP- CD for Jeremy Lamb and Perry Jones 3. 2.5 minutes for Steven Adams. Inactive for Andre Roberson, 23 minutes for Caron Butler, 17 for Derek Fisher, 14 for Reggie Jackson. 43, 45, 47 for Durant, Westbrook, and Ibaka.

Well deserved honor for Pop, but I thought that either Hornacek or Thibs would have won.

Last night I sat down and watched more than half of this and ended up laughing. That reach he does everytime someone gets by him is comical.

We all knew that Westbrook was going to take the majority of the heat for the loss, its the way things work for the Thunder now.

Kd doesn't fight for position on the block, and doesn't always cut hard toward the ball. If he takes himself out the play, who's the next guy you'd want shooting the ball?

I'm still pissed at Joerger for not playing James Johnson at all and still trying to give Prince minutes when the guy is not feeling well. Prince is not that damn important to the team for him to play while sick or injured.

its a gift and a curse, 70% of his fouls are because he gets pushed around so easy but that keeps him from being able to get position on his defender

"We have to play inside out, play their bigs and make it a long night for those guys," Howard told the Houston Chronicle on Tuesday. "I have to demand the ball, get it and go to work."

kevin durant needs to do this too

I'm very glad Pop won.

So tired of these "overachieving" coaches winning with average teams every year.

And yes, that includes The God Thibodeau who is about to get washed early in the playoffs like every year with his DPOY getting dominated by Nene and Gortat.

People rip on Dwight but he's shown up big time in the playoffs in the past. Give the man the ball.

if the rockets had better rotations dwight would have a lot more room to do work in the post. a rockets fan needs to mail mchale a couple years worth of dwight howard orlando highlights

Parsons basically said the same thing.

We have to dump the ball down for him," Rockets forward Chandler Parsons said of Howard. "He has to make plays. He's had a lot of success against [Robin] Lopez. We have to keep feeding him the ball. That doesn't mean we have to slow down. We want to get out in transition and run."

scotty brooks quotes after game 2:

“I’m not concerned” with the bench, Scotty Brooks said. “I’ve believed in them all year and I’m not going to stop doing that."

see @DatZNasty  post above about the disparity of mins

"Reggie had a great game last game. He didn’t make any shots tonight, but I believe in him."

wish they would have a mix of east and west games every day

sucks that every other day is boring basketball
