Perkins has value defensively in this series,

unfortunately he's not a threat on the offensive end...

Oddly enough,

they have a center than is athletic, draws fouls, is a beast on the offensive boards...and Brooks ain't playin' him.

Julius F. Wrek

Stubborn coaches are good for no one.

I'm starting to think a lot of you just started watching basketball..

Phil Jackson won 11 rings without a true pg

Phil Jackson had a guy named Michael ******* Jordan

Then had 2 guys by the names of Kobe and Shaq

Not to mention Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman.

You don't need a PG at that point..

It's actually pretty funny how closely Brooks and MDAs tenure in PHX mirror each other.

Both had MVPs and multiple all stars on their squads. Wildly successful regular season teams. Both refuse to play their bench. Both even had a star injured at a critical juncture of the year. Yet somehow Brooks was able to make it to the finals at least once, beating Pop along the and MDA failed to ever get there...interesting

It's always an excuse when Memphis beats someone in a series, so it's getting old.

In 2011...grizz won because ginobili got injured and it was pop's fault for putting mcdyess on Zbo

In 2012....grizz lost in the 1st round

In 2013...grizz won FOUR straight games after going down 0-2, but it was only because of VDN and Blake getting hurt, even though he was still playing and Memphis had injuries....

Next round, grizz beat OKC 4 times because of Brooks and no Westbrook

Now, IF Memphis pulls this out, it'll be because of Westbrook PLAYING and Brooks not being in a good coach.

Does that sum it up?

MEMPHIS is built for the playoffs, 2 bigs that can score inside! Athletic wing players and shooters. I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the finals this year.

Cuban had a very interesting response to this whole ordeal;

On suggestions that the NBA should ban Sterling from the league:
“If it’s about racism and we’re ready to kick people out of the league, OK? Then what about homophobia? What about somebody who doesn’t like a particular religion? What about somebody who’s anti-Semitic? What about a xenophobe?”

I mean, Kobe Bryant called one of the refs a pretty big homophobic slur. Kobe was fined for it, rightfully so, but to what extent does the NBA start to micromanage? I know it's magnitudes of difference, but I feel like it's a legitimate point. Where do you draw the line on prejudice?

It's a very slippery slope.

I am all for the removal of Donald Sterling as the owner of the Clippers. Racial hatred has no place in the NBA, and such a broad, sweeping view of an entire race is not only ignorant, but also not conducive to the environment of the NBA.

But, there's also no places for homophobia, xenophobia, or any kind of discrimination in the NBA. Yet, from time-to-time, it happens.

We have a lot of older owners in the League still, those like Sterling, where their views are deeply rooted in their upbringing. They may not be a proactive in terms of their views on discrimination as younger owners like Cuban or Jordan.

melo to the bulls?

that's a horrible fit imo even if rose comes back. the bulls defense is overrated and melo wouldn't make them a title contender or even a favorite to beat the heat (that's if the heat keep the big 3 together).

The Magic owner, Rich DeVos has made multiple contributions in the past to groups that were supporting/sponsoring amendments to restrict same-sex marriages...

Cheap owner sells young stud (Harden-Joe)

Pays enough to be within top 10.

But Durant, Russ, Ibaka all prime, 25 and under, not 31-33 like Nash.

Yet, you seem to be implying OKC should have kept Harden for success.

But not keep 24 year old Joe huh? That one wasn't a big deal, at all.

Hmmmm

They should have kept Harden over Ibaka. They still have enough as constructed to win this series and the West.

Just better coaching would do wonders for them. Nice try though.

Or they should have kept both and amnestied Perkins
This will forever be the biggest blunder this franchise has made.

June 21st, 2012: The Miami Heat defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder 4-1 in the NBA Finals. Perkins finishes the playoffs averaging 4.7 points and 6.2 rebounds a game on 41.6% shooting.

Matched up against Chris Bosh, Kendrick Perkins gets drawn out of the lane defensively and again offers little help in the way of scoring. Nick Collison, routinely one of the league’s plus/minus leaders, plays less minutes than Perkins in every game. Perkins finishes his court time during the series a -19. Collison finishes +13.

July 17th, 2012: The NBA’s amnesty deadline passes. Kendrick Perkins remains with the Thunder.

This is when the Thunder truly lost James Harden. If the Thunder amnesty Perkins here, they can comfortably sign Harden to a max deal after the season. That’s all it would have taken to keep the young core of Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, and James Harden together for at least the next few years.

I always post this when the converstaion comes up and just laugh.

Homophobia has religion to hide behind, and I've just accepted that for the way things are. So many people that I've seen get mad over this Donald Sterling thing say similar things about homosexuals. Its nothing new, people pick and choose what is ok to discriminate against and what isnt.

Back to old brooks rotation.. No Lamb No Adams... Those 2 could make a difference and yet theyre rotting on the bench

OKC was fun to watch and was winning in reg season because they have lots of guys that can score and and actually have rim protection with Adams and Ibaka..

Perkins has done a great job defensively but he aint active enough on the offensive side setting up those screens with KD...which Adams strongest attribute..

Westbrooks IQ is not helping tho.. I feel ike his dumber than jr smith

If OKC had a competent coach a lot of problems would be solved.

You can win during the regular season with a average coach because it's one game at a time.

As soon as a series starts, it's a wrap.

See OKC / Houston.

See mike Woodson all those years.

See Thibs to a lesser extent with his rotations.

But, you had the Hawks of the West losing in 4 games.

Repped because of hawks of the East and West are on the verge of advancing.

No matter how you try to swing that comment, it still doesn't make any sense at all. Before the series started, you thought OKC was good enough to win a championship. Now, all of a sudden, they are losing because of Brooks and Memphis still isn't that good.

Stop trolling. I know what I said about the Grizz. I'm not afraid to admit I wanted to retool the team and I still don't take back that statement. Win or lose in the playoffs, they are still going to need retooling this offseason.

It does make sense, because I explained the reasoning behind the comment and why I said it.

No one is trolling, and the majority ( like myself ) have been saying how bad a coach Brooks is for the past few seasons, didn't think it would sink down to this level.

Or do you really think the Grizzlies are the better team?

Or are the Thunder getting outcoached?

I mean.... you take away 10 of Westbrooks 31 shots..... and OKC wins.

You meant, "and OKC is getting blown out"

To be fair LeBron never had to play a team like Memphis. Ever.

And if he did they would have ejected Tony Allen.

While true... the reason the thread didn't jump like crazy is that 99% of the east coast was sleeping when Durant missed the shot. I don't see how people don't realize that

To be fair lebron ain't near as frail as Durant so I can't imagine it would be this bad. But the front line would give them serious issues

No way. MDA transformed NBA offenses.

In all fairness, MDA was a Robert Horry hip check away from the Finals
